City Goal Setting for 2021

Before City Council creates a biennial budget, they go through a round of goal setting. Budget priorities are then linked to those established goals.

Four new councilors were elected in November, giving Council a new majority - and possibly new priorities. The Old Farm NA will be involved in goal setting discussions and you can have your voice heard too!

First, be sure to get in touch with us to let us know what matters to you.

The City of Bend is also starting to send out a survey of their own. It's very similar to ours, but still important for you to take as well!

Take the City's survey at: bendcommunitysurvey.com.

The trees at Stone Creek have come down

A large stand of trees near the canal at Stone Creek, including several mature ponderosa, have finally been cut down. Stone Creek is a master planned neighborhood that began construction in 2014.

As the Old Farm neighborhood loses more of its trees - and nearly all of its farms! - Land Use Chair Karon Johnson has proposed a new Tree Code for Bend that would encourage keeping more existing trees, while at the same time incentivizing the housing development Bend urgently needs.

Read her proposal here.

Did you know that Bend's existing tree ordinance is unenforceable? It's time we fix that.
