GPS Draw YEG is Back!

We can't wait to see what you create.

Earlier this year we introduced the GPS Draw YEG challenge, with some great entries like the ones below! The challenge is back for this holiday season.

Over the next three weeks, get outside with a fitness tracking device or app and draw as you walk, roll, glide, and cycle through Edmonton. Each week, our favourite entry to #GPSDrawYEG will win a PRIZE, a gift card to a local business of your choice!

The first theme is The Holidays! Let us know through a GPS drawing what represents your holidays. Is it a snowman? A candle? A dreidel? Whatever it is, be sure to stay safe and only participate alone or with your immediate household. Entries are due December 23.

SOLSTICE COFFEE OUTSIDE GOING VIRTUAL

Paths for People will NOT be holding Solstice Coffee Outside in-person next Friday. Now is a time to prevent unnecessary gatherings so we can protect one another.

However, the usual virtual coffee outside is still a-go, hosted by Marcel Huculak who will post the link on Twitter in advance of the meeting.

ADVOCACY UPDATE

Over the past month, Paths for People spoke to Council on two key advocacy issues.
We spoke in support of the Safe Mobility Strategy, particularly how it is data driven, equitable, and drives toward increasing mode shift and Vision Zero.

We also spoke at the Council Budget hearings, to advocate for funnelling our limited resources into low-cost and high-impact projects that would show that the City cares about Edmontonians throughout our community and also work towards the broader strategic goals the City has set.

E-Scooter Survey

The purpose of this survey is to determine the general experiences people had either using or encountering e-scooters in Edmonton from May to November 2020.

The information and feedback gathered from this survey will assist the City of Edmonton in determining how the licence for these services may evolve for 2021.

Survey closes December 20, 2020.

Trail Survey

A group of students from the University of Alberta is working on a design project to redesign the access trail from Saskatchewan Drive to the trail between Emily Murphy and Kinsmen parks. Location of the trail can be found here.

In an effort to improve the trail, they are conducting a survey for trail users (visitors, hikers, cyclists, etc.) regarding their experience in similar River Valley trails. The survey takes approximately 3 minutes and all responses are anonymous.

Survey closes January 10, 2020.
