Once upon a time, there was an octopus living in a pen store called Papier Plume.  He was a pen rest/business card holder, and a very good one.

Late one afternoon as he was relaxing in the display case, something new was placed in his lap, a breathtaking fountain pen from Italy. Its name was the  Visconti Torpedo.
It was love at first sight.

The octopus, so finely detailed down to the very last sucker, accompanied by his little fish buddy (or snack?) is part of the Jac Zagoory collection of solid pewter desk accessories.

The Visconti Torpedo fountain pen features a double power filling system, a unidirectional carbon body and palladium plated exoskeleton.  Palladium Dreamtouch™ nib.  Limited edition of 388.
Run away with the Torpedo!

No, these pens did not escape from a Dr. Seuss book.  They are born from the wild mind of Jean-Pierre Lepine, a 5th generation French pen-maker and Papier Plume's de-facto creative genius at-large.
These are black but these styles, like all his creations, come in dozens of bright colors and patterns including natural woods.

From top: The Indigo (rollerball or fountain pen), the Massai, the Samba (rollerball or fountain pen), the Zig-Zag, the San Marco, the Tibetan Prayer Wheel.  All ballpoints take standard generic refills.

What every pen-lover needs and secretly wants is a special place to store and/or carry their favorite pens.
Pen cases not only offer protection, they help prevent loss.  When your pen has a case, that's where it tends to stay when you're not using it.  A habit follows.  It's either there, or in your hand.

Atelier de LaForêt is located deep in the forests of northern France, come these rich, enduring leather pen cases, handcrafted by master leather workers.

Available in 1-pen (large and small), 2-pen and 3-pen sizes as well as simple and convenient "Tulip" pen sleeves.  All in jewel tones, earth, sea, and sky shades, as well as black and white.

ROSSI 1931
Since 1931 when Antonio Rossi founded the Florence based company, the Rossi family has made classic Italian stationery, ranging from the pure traditional Florentine pattern of the Renaissance era, to relatively modern patterns and motifs sourced from antique epherma.  The fold-overs have simple gold or bright borders, and the single cards are of heavy cardstock with embossed borders and deckled edges, and of course the de rigueur lined envelopes.

Rossi's wrapping paper, like most made in Italy, is the same high quality and fine weight of their stationery paper and the Italians would never purposely tear it.  Think of it more as a craft paper which can be used for covering presents, then reused.  In the long run it becomes quite cost effect with much less waste.

Above: A classic vintage Rose pattern features single cards embossed to frame the sender's words.  Deckled edges and lined envelopes complete the impression of classic elegance. In two sizes.
