Great times!, huge thank you for your support!
It is one of the most outstanding years in history worldwide, with major shocks of covid-19 still being felt by all and sundry! Despite this, we have been able to undertake all our activities un-deterred. It is because of your support and friendship! We want to relay our heart felt gratitude to Timaflor Ltd, Tusk Trust and NRT for ensuring that Ngarendare forest and its critical biodiversity are un-challenged during the times of the pandemic. Our community, stakeholders and staff took the biggest role of keeping the ground intact and ensuring nothing falls apart, thanks to great inspiration and support from Lewa & Borana conservancies, Kisima & Ol Donyo Farms, Kenya Forest Service and Friends of Ngarendare forest. Well done to all of you and your supporters!
What did we achieve?
With your support we maintained un-interrupted peace and tranquility between forest biodiversity and the surrounding communities, in which we recorded zero incidences of poaching or human-wildlife conflicts. We have made new friends with Equity Bank Nanyuki and Save our Rivers joined our conservation campaign by supporting our tree planting campaign and promising long term relationship as a Public-Private- Partnership in forest conservation. Forest protection
Security of the forest and surrounding communities in our landscape is a crucial part of our daily work, and this year was outstanding as we upped our effort to match the challenges posed by effects of covid-19. Our security team got a huge boost in terms of provision of rations, radio batteries for communication, uniforms and SMART Cyber trackers through the support from Save- the Rhino, Animal Activists the David and Lich. We also thank the National Police Service for recruiting, training and equipping more police reservists from among our rangers to enhance community security
Forward to 2021
We look to enhance our capacity in forest security by training our team on SMART monitoring, first aid and data collection. Ecotourism being our crucial enterprise, we shall endeavor to maintain a well-trained staff with knowledge and experience on bush and water safety, marketing and providing necessary tools and guiding equipment to tie any loose ends that can affect our revenue stream. We shall achieve these alongside maintaining the best relationship with our communities, supporters, friends and stakeholders.
