Hi everyone,
Our last webinar of the year is a very special one. This Saturday, we're coming back to a topic we've discussed often: the conflict between dairy ranching and native ecosystems in Point Reyes National Seashore Park. We will be joined by Skyler Thomas who made the wonderful documentary The Shame of Point Reyes and who will show a new video made especially for this webinar.
Over the past years, our efforts to spread the word about this conflict have resulted in increased public awareness as well as increased activism on the ground, so we are keen to keep it going. But this issue is not just one for our local community–it is a local fight of truly global import.
The struggle between ranching and nature is one that repeats itself throughout the Americas and beyond. And the discourse that upholds livestock grazing as the solution to climate change has now gone global and viral, but it rests on assertions and premises that are lies. This becomes obvious to anyone who visits Point Reyes, and this Saturday you will have the opportunity to find out what's really going on regardless of where you are.
