Bringing 2020 to a joyful end

We had a lively fiesta in the Orchard with great crowds, terrific music and over $1000 raised. We have so many volunteers to thank for their time planning the event, preparing the site and the activities and on the day itself. If you made it along we hope you enjoyed it. Please send us any feedback or ideas for next year.

Our fabulous musicians were all from the local Fremantle area - the Dahlias from Freo College, The Alfalfa Males from Beaconsfield and Tex Holmes from JCCA. We really appreciate their donation of their time and their wonderful music.

The prizes donated to the Orchard raffle came from many skilful hands and minds with special thanks to Josh Byrne, Janet Horabin and Orchard committee. Thanks also to Bunnings for their gift voucher.

The ice cream machine was kept busy transforming frozen fruit into ice cream. Thanks to The Grocer and the Chef for their generous discount on fruit.

The silent auction tent was kept busy all afternoon with bidding on the numerous prizes. Thank you to all of you that donated so generously and those of you who got into the bidding on the day.

Our East Ward councillors, Jenny and Su worked tirelessly over the afternoon to assist this community event and we thank the City of Fremantle for funding the toilet hire.

We were so glad the Hazel Orme Kindy parents could join us again and run a delicious cake stall that sold out before the afternoon was out.

We look forward to doing it again next year and in the meantime growing and nurturing our orchard. Figs will be ripening soon and maybe we might get a big mango crop in 2021….

We wish you all the best for the festive season, safe, refreshing holidays and a slow, positive start to 2021.
