About Peter Allison

Peter Allison is one of the founders of Natural Selection, a safari company in Africa that specializes in tours with real heart and soul.

Peter has a self-deprecating sense of humor which can be found in his books about the challenges and elusive joys of dealing with tourists in the African bush.

Guest Policy Updates

The Club's Food and Beverage outlets now welcome Guests of Members daily.

The Quad, The Quad Poolside, The Bowling Alley and Thinkspace are open to Guests of Members from Mondays to Fridays. Additionally, The Bowling Alley only opens based on reservations from Mondays to Fridays.

The Club's 'No Guest Policy' continues to apply for all other outlets on Saturdays, Sundays and Public holidays. Safe management measures apply and we appreciate your compliance and co-operation.

EAGLE Fund 2020 - A New Record

A big thank you to everyone who supported the EAGLE Fund initiatives this year through participation and contributions. Activities included:

Tennis Event from October 12 to November 15
Swimathon on November 15
F&B specials from November 1 to 15, with 72 cents from selected items purchased at Club F&B outlets going towards the EAGLE Fund.

Through our combined efforts as a Club community, we raised a total of $36,600.36 - $25,139 from the Tennis Event, $9,850 from the Swimathon and $1,611.36 from the F&B purchases. This is a record achievement since the EAGLE Fund initiative was started in 2017, and a wonderful testimony to the generosity of Members against the backdrop of a global pandemic!

Project Joy Box

‘Tis the season of giving! Here at The American Club we believe in giving back. Organized by People’s Association and Mayor of North East District, Mr Desmnd Choo, The Club’s staff participated in putting together 30 Joy Boxes – which will be delivered to a less privileged family or a resident (seniors between the ages of 70 and 99) in need.

Each box was beautifully wrapped, filled with items that are valuable to our beneficiaries, and little festive notes from our team members.

Limited Usage Of Pool On December 19

There will be limited swimming pool lanes available on December 19, from 3:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m.. This is due to the in-house water polo match between our Swim Squad and Masters Swim Squad.

We seek your understanding and cooperation. Thank you.

Considerate Use Of Limited Capacity At Grillhouse

As with all other Club restaurants, seating capacity at Grillhouse has been reduced due to safe distancing requirements.
If your belongings are placed on the table unattended for 15 minutes, Grillhouse staff will remove your belongings to free up the table for other Members who are waiting.
We appeal to all Members to show consideration to fellow Club Members by not hoarding tables if they are not physically present.
If you or your family members are participating in swim classes, please store your personal belongings in the poolside lockers instead.

Safe Management Measures Updates

Singapore to enter Phase 3 on December 28

Social gatherings of up to eight people will be allowed, up from the current five - The Club is reviewing all outlets' capacity and seatings to ensure safe management measures are still in place with the increase in capacity per table. All other existing measures stay the same.
The Covid-19 Ministerial Task Force urged all businesses to continue observing safe distancing measures in all public areas, which is mandatory. (Please refer to COVID-19 (TEMPORARY MEASURES) ACT 2020)

TraceTogether App or Token Is Compulsory At Public Venues By Early 2021

It is the Singapore Government's mandate to check-in with the TraceTogether app or token at all public venues in Singapore by early 2021.
Other options for checking in with SafeEntry, such as by scanning the SafeEntry QR code with your phone camera, the Singpass mobile app, or the bar codes on your Identification Card will no longer be available once the TraceTogether-only SafeEntry is implemented.

Keeping Our Clubhouse Safe - A Joint Responsibility

Government agencies have been stepping up enforcement on Safe Management Measures. Under the COVID-19 (Temporary Measures) Act passed in Parliament on April 7, 2020, first-time offenders will face a fine of up to S$10,000, imprisonment of up to six months, or both. Subsequent offenders may face a fine of up to S$20,000, imprisonment of up to 12 months, or both.

Businesses that do not implement or comply with the government’s safe management advisories may also be ineligible for government grants, loans, tax rebates and other assistance. Click here for more information.

Additionally, Members who do not behave in a socially responsible way or do not cooperate with staff enforcing safe management measures, could potentially face disciplinary action in accordance with the framework approved by the General Committee.

The Club will also face the potential risk of Clubhouse closure, if Members are found to be non-compliant with the Safe Management Measures.

Lost & Found

If you have found an item or if you have misplaced an item during your visit to The Club. Please proceed to the Concierge to handover the found item or report your lost item.

We recognize that your personal belongings are important to you. In our busy club community, many lost and found items are handed over to our Concierge team daily. These are recorded for safekeeping until they are returned to their rightful owner.

Stop Towel Theft

Did you know that The Club lost 814 bath towels and 1,244 hand towels in 2019? That means The Club lost a whopping $7,896 last year! It's time to do our part and return the towels after using them.
