#smarthealthykids
We love our school garden, and are so grateful that we were able to be safely in the garden together from mid-October through November. Now we are once again learning and teaching from home. Our commitment to providing exceptional learning opportunities remains undeterred. Each week we lead the students through garden based lessons and activities in their remote classrooms. We offer an online cooking club for parents that meets monthly. Fresh produce from the rooftop garden and the Tower Gardens was made available just in time for the holidays, bringing smiles to Rothenberg staff and families.
Here's some of what our teachers have to say about the garden program:
"The best garden team in the Cincinnati Public Schools!"
"Always thinking of how they can support students, families and staff."
"Creative. Offering engaging lessons that connect the garden to what we are learning in the classroom."
"If it wasn't for the garden I would have never tried kale!"
"Love the way you have helped our children find a love for the outdoors and gardening."
The impact of Covid-19 has been felt deeply throughout the Rothenberg school and community. We needed to innovate new ways to deliver our mission, all while maintaining safety and best practices. We will continue to be a resource for the school and greater community. We look forward to 2021 and the promise of health, wellness and peace.
