Prayer for the New Year
O God of new beginnings and wonderful surprises,
thank you for the gift of a new year.
May it be a time of grace for me,
a time to grow in faith and love,
a time to renew my commitment
to following your Son, Jesus.
May it be a year of blessing for me,
a time to cherish my family and friends,
a time to renew my efforts at work,
a time to embrace my faith more fully.
Walk with me, please,
in every day and every hour of this New Year,
that the light of Christ might shine through me,
in spite of my weaknesses and failings.
Above all, may I remember this year
that I am a pilgrim on the sacred path to you.
Amen
Table Blessing for New Year’s Day
God, our Father,
you chose the lowly maiden of Nazareth,
to become the mother of your eternal Son.
Through the intercession of her prayers
make us, your children,
grow daily in the love of you, our Father,
and in the love of all our brothers and sisters in Christ.
Send your blessings upon our table,
upon those who prepared this food for us,
and make us always mindful
of the needs of the poor and the hungry.
We ask this through Jesus Christ,
Son of God and Son of Mary.
Amen.

The Solemnity of Mary the Mother of GOD
May your continue to know the peace of GOD’s love shining upon you and may you respond by seeking to do GOD’s will.
GOD continues to reveal to us what we should be doing with our lives. We know that we are doing what is asked of us when we sense GOD’s presence and peace. That does not mean that we have it easy. Doing GOD’s will is challenging and sometimes unpredictable, but we can move forward with the confidence that GOD is blessing us. That is what Mary was aware of as she said “Fiat” – “Let it be done” according to GOD’s will.
As we begin a new calendar year, we must prepare ourselves to be aware of GOD’s presence and willing to say “Yes” to whatever GOD has in store for us in 2021. Be assured of my prayers for you throughout 2021. A special prayer for all those with the name of Mary (Maria, Marie, Miriam, etc.) or who have a close relationship with Mary, the Mother of GOD.

Let us not be afraid to welcome our Lord Jesus Christ and share his peace with one another every day and be thankful.
Thank you to all. To the following a very special thank you:

|
The music ministry – organists Bruce, April, choirs, cantors |
|
The “Tree Cutters” who cut the tree for our “Tree of Life” and brought it into the church, and Elisabeth A. who donated the tree |
|
The craftsman who made the angels and crosses, and the artists who painted them |
|

|
Msgr Ed. Sheridan, Sister Barbara, Bruce, and Voisin-Sehl Family who prepared a virtual Christmas Pageant 2020, as well as all the volunteers who assisted |

|
The ambassadors of goodwill who delivered the Christmas dinners and the people who delivered the white poinsettias to the bereaved
|
|
The many who donated floral tributes in memory of loved ones (the gift box near the altar held their names and they were remembered during the liturgies throughout the Christmas season)
