ONLINE GROUPS & PROGRAMS HAPPENING THIS MONTH
QueerOUT:

We wrapped up QueerOUT 2020 on December 16 with a performance from Cindy Rivers, who has also opened for the world-renowned Hannah Gadsby, and was in the top 100 of the CBC Next Up National Comedy Competition. She put on an impressive stand-up comedy show for our youth!
This year has been very strange indeed for programming at the Centre and QueerOUT has been no exception. We moved online in March using Discord and Zoom, for regular performer events. In addition to Cindy, we would like to take a moment to thank all the wonderful performers who joined us digitally over the year including Imani Khalifa, Gabriel Castilloux Calderón, Jay the Juggling Magician, Tiny Bear Jaws, and Damase Elis. The youth enjoyed everything each of you brought to our virtual stage and we look forward to working with you all again soon!

Cassandra and Kala would like to send a thank all of the youth for their patience and understanding this year as we navigated technical difficulties and all the challenges that come with trying new things! Wednesday nights were definitely the highlight of our weeks. Discord provided the opportunity for daily check-ins, which we loved, and will definitely be part of our programming going forward! We have been taking time to think of the space we are welcoming you back into when we are able and we can't wait for you to see it all put together. We hope you all had a safe holiday season with genuine connections with your loved ones found, made and alike!
The 100 YEG
Thank you again to all the folks at The 100 YEG for hosting MasquerAide this October, nominating the Centre, and all of the board's generosity.

Their mission is to make fundraising easy while making a positive impact right here in Edmonton. You can learn more and become a member at www.the100yeg.com/
LGBTQ+ Newcomers Edmonton
"If I can be thankful for one thing in this pandemic it is this group! I had not been able to join the in-person meeting previous to COVID but changes with social distancing left my Fridays open, and when the group moved online I was been able to start attending!" - Kala Walton, Program Director.

There have been many things to celebrate this year! A number of the group members were accepted for their immigration hearing and are able to remain here in Edmonton, as part of our Pride Centre Family. Over Zoom, the group enjoyed numerous events including a cooking night, pumpkin carving, drag make-up tutorial, a burlesque show, poster making for the Black Lives Matter Protests and so much more!

Kala would like to thank all of the members of LGBTQ+ Newcomers Edmonton's for filling their Friday nights
with so much love. She is grateful to each of you and thankful that you are part of the Pride Centre family. We can't wait for the day to see you all in person again!
