We have accomplished much together!

As we come together to celebrate the Christmas season, we wanted to take a moment of your time to reflect, and share how your giving has been put to work. It is humbling to consider all the lives impacted through our collective effort. In 2020, together, we built homes, enhanced neighborhoods, and created hope all across our community.

Building strength, stability, and self-reliance through affordable shelter has been the cornerstone of Habitat’s mission since 1985. We have had the privilege of serving over 1,100 families and will continue to serve many more with help from friends like you.

We have accomplished so much together over the years, with a bright future ahead for Habitat. Join me in reflecting on just a glimpse of what God’s grace has allowed us to accomplish together in recent years:
  • Expansion: In January, we broke ground on 5 homes in Madera for the first time, and in partnership with our rural community partners, we will be building 8 homes in Riverdale and 7 homes in Firebaugh over the next 18 months. These expanded partnerships has allowed us to serve more families with the greatest needs more equitably.
  • Upcoming Dedications: 2021 will be off to a great start as we are set to dedicate 5 homes in January.  We are very excited to celebrate the New Year with hope and opportunities for the families we serve.
  • Serving our Veterans: On December 10th, in partnership with the City of Clovis, the Fresno Association of Realtors, Wells Fargo, and the Home Depot Foundation, we were able to break ground on 2 homes for veterans for homeownership. This is the first time we have built homes exclusively for veterans and we are VERY excited about it. Check out this video to see the groundbreaking in action!
  • Families Served: While 2020 has been filled with challenges, we have worked tirelessly to meet the needs in our community. This year alone, through our combined efforts designed to meet the immediate needs through our disaster relief efforts, home preservation program designed to enhance the neighborhoods we serve, and to increase the number of homeowners in our community, we have served 275 families this year, with more to come in 2021.
  • Planning for the Future:  Today, we are blessed to have nearly 100 lots at our fingertips to serve families in Fresno and Madera counties.
  • Volunteer Power: To accomplish all that we do, it has truly ‘taken a village'. None of this could have been accomplished without the power of our volunteers!  Over the last 5 years, we have grown from 5,000 annual volunteer instances to over 27,000 a year - a value of nearly $425,000 in volunteer labor service!
As you can see, we are determined when it comes to improving the lives of those less fortunate in our community through our ‘hand up’ approach. This is precisely why your investment in our effort is so important to us--not only will it allow for us to continue this great work, but to expand it as well.

With December 31st just around the corner, your investment really does matter to real people in our community. As we plan ahead, we hope we can count on your financial support.
