EXHIBITIONS

2020 Surf Art Exhibition
Open until Monday 1 February

Winner - 2020 Surf art exhibition
Congratulations to Sara Lane, winner of the 2020 Surf art exhibition, with her work, Ocean Waves #10.  On Sara's work, our Surf Art judge for 2020, Ron Lisle, says that it has immediate appeal, with a classical combination of earth tones and blues. He loves the colour and resin on board technique, which he sees as interesting and unusual, and enjoyed the feeling of movement of the water on the sand and the deep turquoise and ultramarine blue in the work.

To view more of Sara's work, or to commission your own piece, go to her Instagram page, www.instagram.com/sara_laneway_designs/ or her Facebook page www.facebook.com/ArtSaraLane

There is still plenty of time to visit and view the Exhibition.  The Arts Centre will reopen at 10am Monday 4 January 2021, when our normal ours resume.

INTRODUCING NEW ARTISTS IN RESIDENCE
5 January - 29 March

Shirley Morgan
5 January - 29 March

Whilst in residence, local artist Shirley Morgan will explore her art practice using various mediums and creating artworks that reflect her deep connection with her great-grandfather and her ancestral lands. Shirley’s great-grandfather was a bush medicine man who was held in high regard throughout the community for his powers of healing and was referred to by the people in town as ‘doctor’.

The project Songlines of a Kamilaroi Elder,  seeks to reveal a great-granddaughter’s contemplation of family, medicine, healing and culture.

The Silience Kollektive
Michelle Fairburn and Tamara Lee
5 January - 29 March

Working collaboratively as The Silience Kollektive to ask questions a such as;
How do we enter space? Why do we walk by?
How do we begin conversations? Why don’t we?
What sensory and instinctive shifts take place that inspire or enable us to make the unknown known, safe, and participatory?

At the intersection of arts, psychology, geography, and activism, The Silience Kollektive seeks to examine these questions through a series of psychogeography dérives, playful interventions, and self-imposed provocations inspired by the local Pt Noarlunga community and landscape.

EXPRESSWAY ARTS
Carclew

Lockdown

SUPPORT LOCAL
Lockdown is a theatrical presentation of the lived experiences of the ExpressWay Arts ensemble, a collection of young creatives from the Onkaparinga region.

Hunter and Alex break into the school at night. The teachers all think they’re trouble makers anyway, so they might as well make it worthwhile, right? But Scribble and Z are also on their way, and Alana-Rey and JJ have destructive plans of their own. Paths cross, windows smash and friendships are tested.

Set just before lock-down due to a global pandemic, this play follows a group of teenagers who all surreptitiously choose the same night to prove friendships, enact revenge, and make sacrifices for the people they love.

What you think you know to be true depends significantly on where you’re standing.
