SINGAPORE BUSINESS AND PROFESSIONAL WOMEN'S ASSOCIATION
2020 has been a year like no other. We were excited for the dawning of a new era until COVID-19 threw a curve ball our way. Despite the challenges, our events team rapidly pivoted its strategy to various online events, putting our members' networking needs at the forefront while showing initiative and resilience. Adopting technology while physically apart allowed our members to grow closer and at the same time, increase our membership numbers throughout the year.

I am deeply grateful to everyone who took the time to connect, contribute and collaborate; to continue to embrace the values of the SBPWA. Supporting each other through good times and bad is what defines us as a valuable association. I look forward to fostering stronger ties between our local and international members, and with other Singapore organizations.

On behalf of the 2020/2021 Executive Committee, I wish you and your loved ones peace, good health this Christmas and a blessed 2021!

Kim Underhill
SBPWA President 2019/2021

SBPWA UPDATES

Congratulations to SBPWA member, Anna Wojtkowska, a plant-based food educator and founder of nutrition and education cooking company, LivingveggiebyAnia, for her feature in Singapore's main newspaper, The Straits Times!

She shares 3 simple vegan recipes in the article that you can include in your festive feasting this holiday such as a plant-based Butternut Squash Turkey.
SBPWA member, Sujata Tiwari has self-published her first autobiography. In this book, Against All Odds - No Retakes, No Manuals, Real Life Lessons, she shares her experiences on dealing with gender discrimination, culture biases, exploitation, rape and all kinds of abuse. In sharing her story, Sujata strives to provide readers of all backgrounds in any part of the world with real life examples on how to deal with the unpredictable nature of everyday life.

During the online book launch, she shared some key takeaways:
1) Be true to yourself. Listen to your conscience.
2) Take a stand and define your self and actions. Do not let others define you.

You can still pick up a copy of Sujata's book via the SBPWA e-store HERE.
In line with Phase 2 of Singapore's COVID-19 safety prevention measures, SBPWA members meet up with President Kim in small groups of 5 for a quick catch up to share ideas and connect.

With Phase 3 opening up 28th December, we look forward to hosting more members and resuming our physical meetings very soon.
