Dear Supporter,
2020 has been an exceptionally challenging year for many of us. The coronavirus has changed the world as we know it. Overnight we have had to change the way we live, work, interact and even the way we dress.
Although every community has been affected, some are more vulnerable than others. In the community that FICDO serves, in central Ethiopia, people needed to make a very hard choice between risking catching the virus by going out or going hungry by staying in. That was when FICDO started a pledge to collect donations to support high–risk groups and the most vulnerable such as the elderly.
You responded to our pledge so enthusiastically. Thanks to your generous donations, we could serve and save the lives of hundreds of people during these harsh times. Restrictions have since eased and people have returned to work. We have also resumed our school feeding and social inclusion projects.
Thank you for your solidarity, friendship and support. It is a privilege to work together on life-saving and transforming projects. It is with heart-felt gratitude that we celebrate Christmas this year.
From all of us here at FICDO, have a very happy and restful Christmas.
Ewnetu Ermias (Trustee and Overseas Co-Ordinator)

FICDO is an all volunteer-led grassroots Community Organization registered (#4207) in Ethiopia. Since the commencement of operations in June 2019, we have been running social inclusion projects through generous donations of community members and friends. This year, through our education program, we support fifty children to be in school by providing basic needs such as breakfast and lunch, and school materials including uniforms. Our befriending program supports forty elderlies who have no family.
