Shalom dear friends!

Thank you for your continued interest in the journey of Jerusalem Seminary.
During this winter season we are pleased to announce a Christmas / New Year’s surprise - our first open-registration online courses, commencing March 2021! The inaugural roster includes these four life-changing School of the Bible courses:

  • Beginner’s Spoken Biblical Hebrew (no background required) - one of the best ways to enter into the world and culture of Jesus’ Bible, the Older Testament

  • The Gospel of Matthew in its First-Century Jewish Context - explore the lost world of the Jewish Gospels and discover Jesus afresh
  • The Biblical Landscape: Flora and Fauna - revealing many surprising and significant faith lessons through study of the agricultural and zoological context of the Bible

  • Hebraic Roots of Early Christan Music and Prayer - unpack the Biblical, Temple and Synagogue roots of Christian and Messianic Jewish worship

For more details about the courses, please see the update on our JS website. Registration begins in early January 2021!  In this season, as we contemplate the light Yeshua brought to a dark world, we are excited to take part in spreading the light through study and we pray that these courses will greater extend the knowledge of the Word from Jerusalem to the ends of the earth.

Another way of extending the knowledge of the Lord is through helping God’s Word to be translated for all! Towards this goal the School of Hebrew: Hebrew for the Nations team begins its fourth annual Biblical Hebrew Teacher’s Training Course this January, next month! The purpose of the course is to train Israelis in Biblical Hebrew, taking advantage of their previous knowledge of Modern Hebrew to more quickly and fluently learn Biblical Hebrew. Coordinated by Talia Bar-David, this course aims to also train native Hebrew speakers how to teach Biblical Hebrew in an immersive manner.

Graduates of the Hebrew Teacher’s courses have found themselves teaching Bible translators and seminarians in countries such as Nigeria, Mongolia and Togo, as well as online to students from around the world.  We pray that many more Israelis would participate in the Teacher’s Course and join the work of training others in communicative Biblical Hebrew and even of helping translate the Hebrew Scriptures across the world.

We invite you to join us in praying for the upcoming courses: that the Lord would put it on the hearts of the right students - Israelis and those from around the globe - to register and join in this gift of learning; and that transformative learning would lead to life-changing Kingdom results!

We wish you all an abundant supply of the light of Yeshua in the coming weeks and thank you so much for your prayers and partnership!

In common service for the King,

And many nations will come, and say, Come, and let us go up to the mountain of the LORD, and to the house of the God of Jacob; and He will teach us of his ways, and we will walk in His paths: for Instruction shall go forth of Zion, and the word of the LORD from Jerusalem. Micah 4:2
