Prayers for the members of Claremont UMC

In our prayers...

"Hear my prayer, O Lord; give ear to my supplications in your faithfulness; answer me in your righteousness." ~ Psalm 143:1
In Memoriam: Leslie Brewer
Dear Friends,
Let us join in prayer together for one another.

We learned this morning that Les Brewer who had recently gone on hospice care, died early this morning, December 24. We hold close in prayer JoAnn Brewer, Melanie and Dave Little, Marshall Brewer, and all of Les' grandchildren and family and friends. May they, and all who are grieving Les' death know and feel God's loving and comforting presence with them. Absent from the body...present with the Lord.
In Our Prayers...
We continue to hold Dick and Pam Bunce, and their family in our prayers as they grieve the death of their granddaughter, Katarina. We pray that their family, too, would know God's loving and comforting presence.

We hold all of our dear Claremont UMC Family in our prayers as we deal with illnesses and pain, separation from loved ones and from one another. May we all feel God's loving presence with us. May we all feel the love we send to one another.

We pray for all who are caring for those with Covid, and for all who are working in the healthcare field. We pray that they would know God's healing presence, and God's comfort and strength, and that God would keep them healthy.

We pray, too, for ALL who suffer from oppression, and violence due to racist systems and beliefs at work in the world, that God would show up and bring about righteousness and justice. We know that God is working for Good in this world, that God is working for the liberation of all who are discriminated against and oppressed. Just as Jesus promised the Holy Spirit to his disciples, we know that the Holy Spirit remains with all of us as well, and may we all work with the Holy Spirit to eradicate and dismantle racism.

May we all feel God's peace, which surpasses all understanding. May we all find ways to put our full trust in God.

We pray for the children and parents who have been ruthlessly separated at our borders. May God guide us to make this right, to reunite the children with their parents and families. May God protect and be with these dear ones in the dire conditions they face.

As we feel and face all of the darkness, may we remember, and look to the Light that shines in the darkness, and remember the darkness does NOT overcome it! Remember to look for those who reflect this true Light in the world today.

If you know of anyone in the CUMC family who should be lifted up in prayer and included in a future prayer email, please contact the church office via email, prayers@claremontumc.org.  Please be sure to have their permission to be included on the prayer list and in the prayer email.

We pray for God's loving and healing touch to be upon all who are on our hearts and minds.  We ask for God's blessing to be upon each one, upon each of you reading, and upon all of our loved ones.

Christmas Blessings,
Jessica Johnston
