REMINDER: 

OAWA Special General Meeting
Sunday December 27, 2020.  10:00 am.

All Clubs are reminded that the OAWA will convene a Special General Meeting as noted to consider the following motion:

“to approve an exemption to the OAWA By-Laws for the 2021 OAWA AGM only, due to the pandemic, to allow clubs who were recognized for voting at the AGM for 2020 to maintain their status for 2021 regardless of if they do not meet program participation requirements in 2021.  Club that were not recognized in 2020 but meet the program participation requirements in 2021 will be upgraded to fully voting clubs for 2021.”

Rationale:  This meeting is necessary to prevent many clubs from losing their eligibility to vote at the AGM if there are few to no OAWA events in early 2021 before the 2021 AGM.  Recall that clubs must have participated in a number of OAWA Sanctioned events to qualify as a voting member, so this motion seeks to set this aside for 2021 to allow all clubs to vote who were eligible previously.

This meeting will be an on-line meeting using the Go-To-Meeting platform as used for the 2020 OAWA AGM.  Meeting log in details as follows:

 
IMPORTANT:  COVID-19 Update

Note:  With the Province in a Province-wide shutdown, all clubs are advised to discontinue in-person training.  Some clubs training athletes training for the Olympics may be eligible to continue some limited training, but OAWA recommends any club in this situation consult their local Public Health Department for clarification on what is allowed.
