- Fun Fact Friday -

Hi all,

I hope you had a very Merry Christmas and a great weekend so far.
Here's your Fun Fact Friday
 Saturday. Enjoy!

Please leave a review here if you enjoy reading this newsletter.

Fun facts

Fun fact 1
Too much sympathetic drive can actually trigger spontaneous ejaculation without sexual stimulus (R). Parasympathetic drive is necessary for erections, whereas sympathetic inhibit it, but parasympathetic could inhibit ejaculation. This is why men with sexual anxiety struggle to get erections, and when they do, they often suffer from premature ejaculation. This is all due to sympathetic nervous system overstimulation.
On the other hand, delayed and/or blunted ejaculations are due to excess parasympathetic stimulation.

Fun fact 2
Poor erections and a mix between premature ejaculation and blunted orgasms are related to chronic stress and serotonin. A lot of men with PSSD suffer from this, and although I haven't used SSRI drugs before, I know what it feels like. A few years ago my wife and I went through some serious life stressors. I experienced crazy muscle catabolism and got all kinds of negative health symptoms. One of them was poor erections and a mix between premature ejaculation and blunted orgasms.
So the link here is stress, excess serotonin and most likely nutrient deficiencies.
I have now fixed this issue with good nutrition and various supplements and I plan to write more articles on this in the near future.

Fun fact 3
T4 therapy is associated with an improvement of erectile function at the vascular level (R). Excess estrogen and nitric oxide cause vascular leakage and weaken erections. T4 can help to reverse this, probably because it stimulates steroidogenesis. And androgens improve vascular function. So simply applying some T4 and T3 on your scrotum and other man parts can improve erectile function.
Adding thyroid hormones on the scrotum or taking them orally is part of my testosterone and libido protocol, which you can read more about here.

As an aside, scrotal vitamin K2 and oral taurine + GABA is been great for reducing excess penile sensitivity and reducing premature ejaculation. I've had men contact me saying that the GABA and taurine stack makes it too hard for them to orgasm if they already have slightly delayed ejaculation. It's really potent.

Anti-snore hack

If your pillow is too high and you sleep on your back, you'll most likely do mouth breathing. It's not a problem when you sleep on your side, but most people roll from their side onto their back during their sleep and start to snore. If you sleep mostly on your back, try a thinner pillow, which you can just fold double when you want to sleep on your side. This is something that definitely helps me not to snore because as soon as I use a pillow that is thicker/puffier than the one I normally use, I start to snore when I lay on my back.

Pro-energy drink

A lot of men contact me with the goal to improve their confidence and to become more extroverted. Here is a trick you can do. But first...science time.
When in a low energy state (such as a high serotonin state), symptoms such as sluggish speech, slow mental function (can't think of something to say fast enough or can't keep a conversation going long enough), shyness, unnecessary aggression (can't take a joke), tired, not wanting to socialize, etc. appear.
Boosting energy production can help to resolve this. When energy production is optimal, dopamine and GABA can function as needed, which can make you feel more motivated to socialize, be mentally quick, relaxed, etc.

Here is a simple pro-energy stack I often use in the morning to get my brain functioning at maximal capacity:
  • 500ml skim milk
  • 200mg caffeine from 1 massive heaped tbsp coffee
  • 1 tbsp cocoa powder
  • 1g taurine (which potentiates the stimulating effects of caffeine, but blunts the negatives some people might get from it)
  • 3 tbsp maple syrup/honey
  • 1 serving pyrucet or 3g calcium pyruvate
  • 100mg vitamin B1
I just recently gave this mix to a friend of mine who usually gets sleepy immediately after consuming sugar. After drinking it he had great energy for hours without a drop in energy/no slump. This mix doesn't energize you past your optimal baseline. It just keeps you there but you can really feel the difference.

If I wanted some extra mental focus, I'd add in piracetam and PRL-8-53 (from my DDT stack) in the mix. However, that's rarely even needed.
If I wanted to add something more pro-social, I'd add in Catuaba bark extract.
If I wanted more euphoria, I'd add in Kratom or Magnolia bark extract.
If I wanted something more anti-stress and thermogenic, I'd add in magnesium salicylate or just aspirin.

Book I'm reading

Shoe Box by Phil Knight. It's about the history of how Nike came to be. Very good read. The book is filled with humor, which makes it a joy to read.

Top pre-workout supplement

If I had to pick just one supplement I could use pre-workout, it would be sodium bicarbonate (SB). I always take 1 tsp SB with 500ml of fruit juice 15-30min before my workout and it gives me energy and strength through the whole workout. It definitely beats most other supplements hands down and it's dirt cheap.

Best of 2020

Since this is the last Friday (or actually Saturday) of 2020, I'm doing to do this section in this newsletter.

Best purchase made: Gymnastic rings, hands down

Best decision made: Putting aside 30-60 min each day for reading

Best dietary adjustment I've made: Eliminating starch. You can read more about it here.

Best exercise: There are many exercises I tweaked this year to accelerate strength and hypertrophy gains, but I'm going to pick one for hypertrophy. It's wide grip chest dips on rings. When I got more used to the stabilization, I put extra weight around my waist as well as a resistance band to increase the difficulty.

Best author: This is a tough one, but I'm going to go with Seth Godin.

Best supplement tried: Lapodin. I elaborated in last week's newsletter about the benefits I've gotten from this one.

Goals achieved this year: Over 100kg bodyweight. 18" arms

This year's top articles

I'll not be releasing a new article until the 8th of Jan, so in the meanwhile, here are the top 5 articles I released in 2020. If you enjoy reading my articles and find them informative, please don't forget to share this content with others so that they can benefit from the information as well.
