We hope this message finds you and your family well.
This year has not been an easy one for Sharim v'Sharot. With many mandated cancellations and closings due to Covid -19, we have been unable to hold in person concerts and lectures. Our participation at The Philadelphia Kimmel Center's "Sing Hallelujah III Concert" and our 20th Anniversary concert with its planned premiere that we commissioned, Sim Shalom by Benjie Ellen Schiller, could not occur and we have lost significant revenue.
We did, however, provide a Yom Hashoah Lecture, classes in Jewish Music History open to the public, sight singing and musical score study via Zoom. We have released four virtual videos and this winter, we will add classes in music theory and choral arranging.
We do all this in an effort to keep the music alive, to continue with Sharim v'Sharot's mission to provide high quality Jewish music and to educate the public about Jewish music.
This year, the CARES Act allows for the following opportunity when filing taxes for 2020:
"Individuals can take a charitable deduction of up to $300, even if they don’t itemize deductions on their tax returns. Married couples filing jointly can deduct $600."
Please consider making your tax deductible contribution to Sharim v'Sharot for 2020 by mailing your check, made payable to "Sharim v'Sharot," to:
