 Greetings Rare Ones,

🎙️ Podcast: Sharing distinctive early stage entrepreneurial stories from emerging markets.

The beginning stages of building a business is wrought with difficulties.  It is hard to build trust, it is hard to gain credibility and at times one gets taken for granted in the process.  We heard this last week from Harshita when she told us that her biggest lesson to date was being too trusting.  Episode 159: Independence & Identity with Harshita Goenka Founder of GraphicsQue in India.

"What lessons do you have to share with us from your entrepreneurial journey?"
  • Trust but in a limited way ✔️
  • Always go with your instinct✔️
  • In the beginning I trusted everybody, I learned the hard way this is not good ✔️
  • Cultivate the right relationships ✔️
Harshita reminded us that business is about relationships. Sometimes we are protective of ourselves and our circles. We know that what we have taken years to build lies on a foundation built on trust.

Listen in to Harshita share tales of independence and curiosity which is relatable to so many of us.

When you are done I suggest listening in to Nedgine wax lyrical on a similar topic. Everyone needs a Nedgine in their lives.  An episode I listen to often: Podcast Episode 43 with Nedgine Paul Deroly in Haiti: Building a Movement of Civic Leaders, rooted in appreciation of culture, customs & community! Nedgine is a Echoing Green Fellow. Obama Fellow, a Forbes 30 Under 30 and driven by a strong sense of purpose. She is a fierce community builder and understands the word: trust!
