A Zaratan tem o prazer de convidar para um encontro com a artista e videomaker coreana RescueFish, actualmente em residência em Zaratan.
Além de apresentar brevemente seu percurso na indústria cinematográfica coreana, por esta ocasião introduz algumas das temáticas de pesquisa que caracterizam a sua prática.
A acompanhar a apresentação haverá várias projecçõess: trailers de filmes, registos em desenvolvimento gravados em Lisboa e uma selecção das suas obras de vídeo-arte, que envolvem técnicas como ecrãs múltiplos, time lapse ou realidade virtual.
A entrada é gratuita e a conversa acontece em inglês. Perguntas e questões são bem-vindas. No contexto da pandemia Covid-19 o uso de máscara é obrigatório e a lotação é limitada, no respeito das normas da DGS. /// Zaratan is pleased to invite you to an encounter with Korean artist and videomaker In Jin Mi, also known as RESCUE FISH, currently in residency at Zaratan.
Beside briefly introducing her course in the Korean cinema industry, she will be discussing some of the research themes that characterize her practice.
To accompany the presentation there will be several screenings: movie trailers, rough recording collected in Lisbon, and a selection of her video artworks, which involve techniques such as multi-screen, time lapses, or virtual reality.
The entrance is free and the presentations will be held in english. Questions and discussion are encouraged. In the context of the Covid-19 pandemic the use of sanitary mask is mandatory and the space capacity is limited, in compliance with hygiene and safety standards.

BIO: RESCUEFISH (aka In Jin Mi) é uma artista visual coreana sediada em Seul. Começou a trabalhar na indústria cinematográfica como assistente de direção em 1996. Desde então participou em vários filmes com várias funções distintas: assistente, cenógrafa, até diretora principal no filme independente “Wealth and Honor”. Atualmente RESCUEFISH trabalha com diversos médias expressivos para desenvolver o seu trabalho artístico, tendo participado em várias exposições coletivas. Em 2015 obteve o apoio da Fundação Cultural Incheon para a produção de uma exposição individual. Ao colaborar na produção de um filme comercial de fantasia ficou interessada na RV (Realidade Virtual) e começou a explorar as possibilidades técnicas desta tecnologia. Em 2017 produziu duas curtas em RV como parte da série “Paralles city” uma exposição que trata de problemas urbanos, exibida em 11 países ao redor do mundo (Ilhas Canárias, Brasil, Argentina, Reino Unido, Miyanma, Vietname, Taiwan, Alemanha , Espanha, França, Coreia). Durante a sua residência na Zaratan tenciona “encapsular” Lisboa nos seus vídeos, usando a técnica do time lapse e a tecnologia RV. A paisagem urbana será reinterpretada através de múltiplos ecrãs, combinada e sobreposta a imagens e sons capturados em diferentes locais do mundo. /// RESCUEFISH (aka In Jin Mi) is a Korean visual artist living and working in Seul. In 1996 she started working in the Korean movies industry as assistant director. Since then she participated in several films with various different functions, since scenario designer to main director of the independent movie “Wealth and Honor”. Currently RESCUEFISH works with a lot of different media to develop her artwork, that has been included in several collective show. In 2015 she obtained the support of the Incheon Cultural Foundation for the production of a solo-exhibition. While preparing herself for the production of a fantasy commercial movie she became interested in VR films. In 2017, she produced two short VR films as part of the series “Parallel city” an exhibition dealing with urban problems, displayed in 11 countries around the world ( The canary Island, Brazil, Argentina, UK, Miyanma, Vietnam, Taiwan, Germany, Spain, France, Korea). Her project for Zaratan is to encapsulate Lisbon in her videos using a time lapse technique and VR technology. The urban landscape will be reinterpreted trough multiple screens, combined and overlapped with images and sounds captured in different locations worldwide.

A Zaratan tem o prazer de apresentar “Posto na Terra”, uma exposição individual de Henrique Neves que nos últimos anos tem vindo a explorar uma série de processos e referências pictóricas.
A partir da criação de marcas e de sistemas rítmicos em telas descartadas e têxteis usados, as suas pinturas configuram-se em campos abstractos ou "paisagens", que abraçam dúvidas, falhas e vulnerabilidades, e que se materializam em superfícies coloridas e obras tridimensionais.
Os trabalhos apresentados escondem uma prática de citação subtil de obras de artistas abstractos, muitas delas contendo dimensões sociais e políticas que são frequentemente olvidadas. McArthur Binnon, Sam Gilliam, Simon Hatai, entre outros, estão aqui presentes. Uma presença essa que ressoa oblíqua e ambígua: uma cor, uma pincelada aqui, a direcção de uma marca, um rasgão ali, um rabisco, uma palavra no título.
Estas referências acentuam as camadas pessoais e culturais da exposição, onde a poética do artista ressoa no imaginário doutros autores. No pano de fundo, transparecem assim questões relativas a efemeridade, a aniquilação e a morte, mas também a cor e a forma. /// 
Zaratan is pleased to present “Posto na Terra”, a solo exhibition by Henrique Neves who in recent years has been exploring a series of processes and pictorial references.
From the creation of traces and rhythmic systems on discarded canvases and used textiles, his paintings appear as abstract fields or "landscapes", embracing doubts, defects and vulnerabilities, and materializing into colored surfaces and three-dimensional artworks.
The pieces on display hide a practice of subtle quoting of works by abstract artists, often containing a forgotten social and political dimensions. McArthur Binnon, Sam Gilliam, Simon Hatai, among others, are present here. A presence that resonates oblique and ambiguous: a color, a brushstroke here, the direction of a mark, a rip there, a scribble, a word in the title.
These references emphasize the personal and cultural layers of the exhibition, where the artist's poetics resonates in the imagination of other authors. In the background, pop up dark questions about ephemerality, annihilation and death, as well as thoughts connects with color and shape.

BIOGRAFIA: Henrique Neves vive e trabalha em Lisboa. Cursou o Programa Independente de Estudos da Maumaus, em Lisboa, e obteve um mestrado em História da Arte na Goldsmiths, em Londres. Expôs em Portugal ( MUHNAC- Museu de História Natural e da Ciência, Galeria Foco, Bienal De Cerveira Casa70 Lisboa, entre outros) no Reino Unido ( Belfast e St Leonards), em França (Versalhes, Festival PDF) , em Berlim (Trace Projects) e em Lahore. Há vários anos trabalha como assistente do coreógrafo Jérôme Bel. Está representado em diversas colecções públicas e privadas, entre as quais se evidenciam a Fundação Bienal de Cerveira (Cerveira) e a Biblioteca de Arte da Fundação Calouste Gulbenkian (Lisboa). Em situações diversas foi bolseiro da Fundação Calouste Gulbenkian e da DGArtes Ministério da Cultura.
Finalista do prémio MAC International no Metropolitan Art Center em Belfast (2016) e seleccionado para o Portuguese Emerging Art (PEA) green edition (2020). Ainda em 2020 foi seleccionado para o prémio “A Arte Cegou ao Colombo”, cuja exposição acontece em Janeiro 2021 no Museu Berardo. /// Henrique Neves lives and works in Lisbon. He attended the Maumaus Independent Studies Program in Lisbon and obtained a master's degree in Art History at Goldsmiths College, University of London. He exhibited in Portugal (MUHNAC- Museum of Natural History and Science, Foco Gallery, Bienal De Cerveira Casa70 Lisbon, among others) in the United Kingdom (Belfast and St Leonards), in France (Versailles, PDF Festival), in Berlin (Trace Projects ) and Lahore. For several years he has worked as an assistant to choreographer Jérôme Bel. His work is represented in several public and private collections, among which are the Fundação Bienal de Cerveira (Cerveira) and the Art Library of the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation (Lisbon). He received grants from the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation and DGArtes Ministry of Culture for different projects.
