THE CHRISTIAN COMMUNITY MINISTRY OF STANFORD
Due to the recent imposed Level 3 lock down regulations, the Christian Community Ministry of Stanford will not be able to continue with regular Sunday worshipping in the Okkie Smuts hall for now.

Fynbos Trail
After lengthy deliberations, we have decided to limit trail bookings to the Autumn and Spring seasons for 2021. As such trail bookings are open as from 8 March – 8 June and 1 September – 30 November. We will be limiting bookings to 3 groups a week (Monday, Wednesday and Friday start dates) so if you are keen please get your bookings in as quickly as possible to avoid disappointment.
A couple of changes to the product for 2021 is that:
- we will not be running the coastal add on for 2021
- unfortunately the Grootbos lunch at the end of the trail will not available
- we will also not be mixing any groups for 2021

IKHAYA YOUTH CENTRE
A djacent to Hoopland Academy in Kleine Street in the Stanford industrial area, iKhaya Youth Centre offers a mentorship programme for children who have dropped out of the mainstream schooling system. The facility is managed by the Fynbos Community Foundation, which was founded by Koos and Joanie Smith after they started the first rural private school, Fynbos Academy, on their farm, Langverwacht in Papiesvlei, a few kilometres outside Stanford.

SAWS RESCUE
NEVER SAY NEVER: DOG RESCUED AFTER MONTHS
SAWS is delighted. The road-running dog Zenzi (so named by road workers) seen criss-crossing the R43 between Hermanus and Stanford for many month, is safe.
SAWS chairperson Malcolm Bury was alerted to Zenzy’s plight in May. Rescue plans were made. Farmworker Casper Biningu, who knew where she hid, started putting food down on 7 June.
The SAWS catch cage was then set up but she avoided it.
A bigger cage was located. And then one morning … “Gotcha!”.
Zenzi is now at Syringa Country Kennels, basking in that exceptional care Malcolm is so well-known for.
The system in place for pet food donations is as follows:

Stanford Conservation is a NPO run by volunteers, while we employ Ernest to assist our Wandelpad team with clearing and maintenance.
We use membership fees to support the various SC environmental, social and architectural initiatives, including the Wandelpad.
