“I love beginnings. If I were in charge of calendars, every day would be January 1.
— Jerry Spinell

Some people love January because it's the time to start afresh after the holiday season's distractions and indulgences. And others dread it because of the effort it takes to return to the routine of going back to work and school, not to mention the pressure felt to "become a better person" in 30 days or less. January comes around every year like a train on schedule, whether we're ready or not, and this year it seems to be an especially welcomed arrival. While we don't know what to expect from 2021, we know we need to get on board before the train leaves the station.

In today's online morning huddle, our team talked about the importance of having a growth mindset and the one area of improvement we would focus on this year. Understanding that real change happens in small increments, not the large, flashy ones. At the Jacobs Group, we embrace a fail forward approach to our continuous learning culture because improvement lies in actively learning from our individual and collective mistakes. So we'd like to encourage you to think about the one area you'd like to improve in this year and begin to take small steps towards your goal because there is no failure if you're moving forward. And while you're doing hard things, check out our list of "embracing the cold" winter outdoor activities around the Detroit Metro. We wish you a happy and healthy New Year!

P.S. One of our team leader’s goals is to increase their recruitment efforts in 2021, so we’d love to speak to you or someone you know that’s interested in a career in real estate. It’s a great time for a new beginning!

Stay Safe, Happy and Healthy,
