NYU Data Catalog's Featured Dataset

The NYU Data Catalog is a tool designed to help researchers make their data discoverable and find other datasets for re-use. Every month the CTSI Newsletter highlights a dataset listed in the catalog. This month’s featured dataset includes 864 SARS-CoV-2 genomic sequences obtained by the NYU Langone SARS-CoV-2 Sequencing Team in Spring 2020 from positive COVID-19 patients at four NYULH hospitals: Tisch Hospital, Kimmel Pavilion, NYU Winthrop Hospital, and NYU Langone Hospital—Brooklyn. The extracted sequences were used to assess the outbreak trajectory of COVID-19 and the multidisciplinary team’s findings were recently published in Genome Research. TL1 Pre- and Post-Doctoral Training Support Program

The TL1 program will provide up to two years of stipend, training, and mentoring support for late pre- and early-stage postdoctoral trainees conducting clinical or translational research. The fundamental goal of the program is to help and support trainees as they advance in their research careers, and to provide them with the knowledge and skills to eventually develop into successful, independent researchers. The program encourages productivity, collaborative research, and career development.
Trainees should be actively engaged in clinical or translational research. Trainees from any unit or school of New York University (NYU), or with appointments at CTSI-affiliated NYC Health and Hospitals institutions, are eligible to apply. Individuals from other institutions, who will be assuming positions at NYU to work with established mentors in the upcoming year, are also eligible. Applicants must have the support of their research advisor/mentor and department chair, division chief, or Dean and be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident.
Applications for CTSI TL1 funding will be due on January 15, 2021 by 5:00PM. Applicants and their mentors must be prepared to accept funding by February 1, 2021. Please contact the Program Coordinator,
Elana Lipschitz if you have any questions. Additional information about the program and application materials and instructions may be found on the Clinical and Translational Research TL1 Training Program website

Please note: We offer two distinct pathways: pre-doctoral (post-classroom) and early-stage postdoctoral. We have several available slots for both pre-doctoral and postdoctoral candidates.  Please carefully read the time commitment and mentor requirements detailed on the website.
