Vermont Agriculture and Food System Strategic Plan

As we enter the new year, Vermont also begins a new decade in agriculture and food system planning. We are grateful for the collective effort and impacts from the past decade and look forward to continued progress towards addressing the issues, gaps, barriers, and structural problems that challenge access and viability within our food system.

In 2019, the VT Agency of Agriculture, Food & Markets teamed up with the Farm to Plate Network and collaborated with subject matter experts to produce the Vermont Agriculture & Food System Plan 2020, a set of 23 product, market and issue briefs delivered to the Legislature in January 2020.

In 2020, the Farm to Plate Network continued this effort by developing an additional 31 briefs that were developed in partnership with industry experts and stakeholder engagement.  The priorities and recommendations finalized through that process will be published in February 2021 as the Farm to Plate 2.0 Strategic Plan, a shared vision for the next decade of work together.
