From the Pastor's Desk: New Year's

St. Teresa altar with nativity

Dear Friends in Christ:

All our 2021 hopes and expectations have 52 more weeks to unfold. We all hope for good health, for prosperity for our children and thei  families, and for good friends to sustain us. These hopes play out in our daily prayers to God from whom we ask for grace.  When we pray our never-ending list of petitions the needs of our families top the list, while our respective, individual needs come last.

Our prayers of gratitude certainly come to our hearts as we reflect on the goodness of God. In appreciation to God we are people of virtuous deeds and charitable acts. What better way to thank God than by caring for His people in need  Often we brood about the many disappointments  of life. We forget that God's grace is with us when  we are elated, but especially, when we are  disappointed. In the over-all realm of life our joys  and God's Blessings surely are greater than our burdens.

The New Year I a good time to forever bask in the grace of God, whether we are momentarily sad or not. Our Blessings are great; our Gratitude  bountiful, and our days of gloom but few, given God's Grace.

Peace, Fr. Jim

Prayer for Renewal from Bishop Scharfenberger

In every age, O God, You have called us to be Your people, to be Your Church.

In this time, we begin anew to discern the pathways that will lead us, Your people, to You to continue that journey as we proclaim Your Good News, celebrate Your saving presence among us, serve others with charity and justice, and steward the world You have entrusted to our care.

Send us Your Spirit to lead and guide our Emmaus journey As we commit ourselves to renew our church.

This we ask in Jesus’ name. Amen

Masses in person have returned at St. Teresa - 4:30 PM Sat, 8:45 & 11 AM Sun, and 9:30 AM Weekdays for Daily Mass.

SOLEMNITY OF MARY, MOTHER OF GOD
Why Do Catholics Rightfully Call Mary, the Mother of God?
This Sunday is Epiphany Sunday - the feast of the Three Kings.

For the first time in 800 years, a possible "Christmas Star" was visible this year on December 21st... except it was hidden by cloud cover in in Western New York. Fortunately, it was visible in numerous other regions!
