Dear ACM Friends,

As I reflect on all that has happened in 2020, such as the museum becoming one of Akron's premier children's birthday party choices, plans for the return of amazing events like “Full Steam Ahead” train fun, Akron KidsFest which has drawn over 1,000 visitors to downtown Akron, and then the sudden closing of our doors to you, I am overwhelmed with gratitude for the sincerity shown through financial support, words of encouragement, and heroic acts of volunteerism from so many.  

It has not been easy to tell families month after month that we were still unable to reopen our doors safely to children. However, we appreciate your unwavering commitment which has allowed us to continue our work, offering opportunities for children to learn in unique ways through play. We created animal track-themed Adventure Backpacks, wrote a children's book, We All Make Tracks, collaborated with countless organizations such as ArtSparks, Akron Honey, Akron Public Schools, Summit County Historical Society, County of Summit, Downtown Akron Partnership, Summit Metro Parks, PNC, Summit DD, and we were able to donate our Hands-On Holidays & Hotcakes kits to children at Family Promise of Summit County and the Ronald McDonald House of Akron. 

The museum couldn’t have pivoted how we delivered play to children without its devoted community of supporters. 

As 2020 ends, please consider making a year-end gift to the Akron Children’s Museum.
