Project update Construction continues this winter This week, we welcomed back our all of our crews to the project corridor to resume construction activities. In Zone C, we were able to reschedule our demolition and paving activities to start this week as other work was completed ahead of schedule. This start date will allow us to finish work in this area sooner and we appreciate your flexibility as the construction schedule shifts. Thank you for your patience during construction.

Upcoming major construction updates
Side street closures on the east side of Delridge Way SW during demolition and paving
Currently closed (timing is weather dependent and may change):
SW Brandon St (closed through the end of this week)
SW Willow St (closed through early January)
Closing soon (timing is weather dependent and subject to change)
SW Myrtle St (closed as soon as SW Willow St reopens)
SW Thistle St (closing as early as January 4)
Vehicle detection loop installation and concrete work at the intersection of SW Oregon St and Delridge Way SW scheduled to begin as early as January 4
Traffic will be split around the planned roadway median during this work
The following week, we will begin shifting all traffic to the east side. Please follow posted signs for the new traffic pattern.
This work will last for approximately one week
Temporary street closure at SW Thistle St between Delridge Way SW and 20th Ave SW beginning as early as January 4
This street closure is required to complete temporary signal work and to demolish and rebuild the sidewalk as part of the duct bank work
This work is expected to last for several weeks
SW Thistle St will be local access only with no through access to Delridge Way SW
Select driveways will experience intermittent access restrictions during demolition and will also be fully closed during restoration work
Roadway demolition and paving to resume on the west side of Delridge Way SW in Zone A and on the east side of Delridge Way SW in Zone B

Work happening this week and next week For all work described below, residents and businesses will be notified in advance of any anticipated impacts. Dates for construction activities scheduled beyond the new year are subject to change depending upon weather.
Paving for sidewalks, ramps, and curbs on the east side of Delridge Way SW between SW Andover St and SW Oregon St to continue through the end of this week
The sidewalk will be fully reopened before traffic is split or shifted to the east side of Delridge Way SW
Electrical upgrades at the bus stop on the west side of SW Andover St
Demolition and upgrades are scheduled to begin this week and be completed late next week
Vehicle-detection loop installation and concrete work at the intersection of SW Oregon St and Delridge Way SW scheduled to begin as early as January 4
Curb ramp and crossing median installation at SW Dakota St to begin as early as January 4
This work will last approximately one week
People driving will follow a new traffic pattern in this area. Please follow the marked roadway.
Continued demolition and paving on Delridge Way SW (east side)
The remaining paving in Zone A is scheduled to be completed this week if weather allows:
Puget Blvd SW and SW Brandon St
SW Brandon St to SW Findlay St
SW Brandon St intersection
Continued demolition and paving on Delridge Way SW (west side)
Demolition to begin between Puget Blvd SW and SW Brandon St as early as January 6
Traffic will need to be shifted to the east side of Delridge Way SW before work can begin on the west side
Once demolition is complete, paving is scheduled to begin in late January
Access to businesses will be maintained during this work. Only one driveway at businesses will be impacted at any given time.
As roadway paving is completed on each block, we will return to form and pour curbs throughout Zone B
This work will continue for several weeks. Driveways will not be impacted as a result of this work.
Roadway demolition and paving work continues on the west side of Delridge Way SW in this section
Paving between SW Holly St and SW Willow St to continues
Paving is scheduled to be completed soon. Driveways will reopen when paving is complete.
Paving between SW Willow St and SW Croft Pl continues this week and is scheduled to be completed next week
Crews will remain in the area to form and pour curbs next week after this work is complete
SW Willow St is closed as part of this work. People driving are encouraged to detour to 23rd Ave SW or SW Myrtle St.
Demolition between SW Croft Pl and SW Myrtle St continues into early next week
Paving is scheduled to begin as early as January 6
Roadway demolition and paving work begins on the east side of Delridge Way SW in Zone B
Demolition between SW Graham St and 22nd Ave SW scheduled to begin as early as January 6
Paving is scheduled to begin in mid-January
Demolition between 22nd Ave SW and SW Holly St to begin in late January
Traffic will be shifted around the completed and active work zones in Zone B. People driving are encouraged to practice caution when traveling through this area.
Electrical work continues in the sidewalk between SW Orchard St and 21st Ave SW
Paving and restoration of the sidewalk is scheduled to begin next week
Pedestrians are encouraged to detour via SW Holden St or SW Orchard St while this work is happening
Sidewalk and driveway restoration between SW Kenyon St and SW Thistle St to continue for several weeks
This work will require select driveways to be temporarily closed. Driveways are scheduled to reopen late this week.

This work will last for approximately two weeks, with paving and restoration to follow
Parking will be restored after the duct bank installation and sidewalk work in this area is completed

Paving to begin as early as January 8
Roadway demolition on the west side of Delridge Way SW between SW Henderson and 20th Ave SW began this week
Paving is scheduled to begin towards the end of next week

In our email update last week, we said this work would be happening on the west side of Delridge Way SW. This was incorrect. Work will be happening on the east side of Delridge Way SW. We apologize for the confusion.
We will begin demolishing the sidewalks in this area to install and upgrade electrical utilities on the east side of Delridge Way SW
This work will last for at least two weeks and will include intermittent driveway impacts

What to expect during paving and construction
Work hours are typically between 7 AM and 7 PM but can last until 10 PM without a noise variance
You may experience temporary access restrictions in and out of driveways on Delridge Way SW during active demolition
Loud hammering, dust, and vibrations
During active demolition, onsite crews will be able to provide access to emergency vehicles of for people leaving their homes for emergencies
If you need your car in a timely manner, we recommend parking on side streets. Otherwise, please be prepared for delays and plan to connect with crews onsite to coordinate access.
Steel plates or a gravel ramp will be placed to provide access to the driveways outside of active work hours
Up to one week of driveway restrictions as concrete cures directly in front of your property. We will deliver notices to any properties with this impact.
Vehicle lane shifts around work zones

As part of this project, we will be upgrading the roadway throughout the corridor. The road above has recently been demolished. During demolition, crews will maintain access to driveways via steel plates like the ones above or via gravel ramp.

At the City of Seattle, we are continuing to follow guidance from federal, state, and local leaders and our public health partners regarding COVID-19.
