Dukes’ Club review of the year
It has clearly been a difficult year. As the official training arm of the Association of Coloproctology of Great Britain and Ireland, we believe that the Dukes’ Club has strongly supported and represented trainees throughout the year. A review of our activities during 2020 is published on our website.
Many thanks to all who applied to be regional trainee representatives. Applicants have been notified and an up-to-date list of regional reps is now on our website. We look forward to working with you!
The second Colorectal Classroom, Updates in Emergency General Surgery, took place on 10 December 2020.
We had excellent, focussed short talks on the management of large bowel obstruction, perforated diverticulitis, assessing and managing lower GI bleeding and the management of small bowel obstruction. There was great interaction from the audience with insightful questions fielded by the panel.
We are very grateful to the entire panel for the expertise brought to the discussion and for giving up their valuable time: Professor Andy Miller, Ms Kathryn Oakland, Professor Pamela Buchwald and Mr Matt Lee.
We are planning to hold IBD, Proctology and Critical Appraisal classrooms in the spring.
