Merry Christmas!

AIMING TO PLEASE THE ONE WHO ENLISTED US

After two months on Abaco we are continuing to work on making our house our home and adjusting to a different culture. Things like the hardware store, grocery store and driving on the other side of the road are no longer as stressful and starting to be a part of everyday life. Thanks to our good friend Emily, we pulled out our own Christmas decorations and set up a Christmas Tree! This was a good thing emotionally for the kids to have a bit of familiarity but also a reality check for us. As our tree is lit and we are enjoying all amazing comforts of electricity, we are one of the few homes in the neighborhood with electricity. The reality of beauty and brokenness is seen around every bend. The beauty of living on a tropical island, white sand beaches minutes away, palm trees, sunsets and sunshine…God’s beauty is seen everyday. But in contrast, homes all around are destroyed, a town working to rebuild, families separated, and a resilient people trying to get through the days. We talk often that we have never seen the reality of Genesis 1 and Genesis 3 seen so clearly.

We pray that your Christmas is a great time to celebrate the birth of our Savior, as we eagerly await his return.
