December 21, 2020 Update
HAPPY SOLSTICE!
Today marks the winter solstice, the beginning of longer days with more sunshine and the time for new things to grow.
Lots of good progress is planned
in the new year for Life Care Humboldt.
We now have a new brochure you can download and send to friends and family both near and far.
In 2021 we will:
Design a fundraising campaign to raise the initial $300,000 that will allow us to:
- Continue outreach for Life Care Humboldt.
Educate people about what a Life Plan Community is and encourage them to join the local effort.
- Contract with development advisors and an architect to begin the design of Life Care Humboldt.
Strategies for success
The LCH board is working to make this a mixed-income facility.
To keep construction and financing expenses down and resident fees more affordable, we will start with a smaller number of Independent Living Residences, Assisted Living, and Memory Care/Advanced Nursing places, and plan on expanding the number of units in the future.
Learn about Life Plan Communities
Life Plan fee structures vary, but people join these communities by paying an entry fee along with monthly payments. When two people share a space, there is a fractional increase in the entry and monthly fees.
Entry fees and monthly payments are based on the size of the residence and any additional services a resident might require.
In order to accommodate various income levels we are planning to have a mix of apartments, townhomes, and cottages, and multiple entry options such an “alá carte” menu of services.
