It's rare that we can take a step back from our life and observe it as we are living it. Usually we are immersed in the day-to-day of living, that we forget we can also pause, step back, and give ourselves permission to reflect and wonder.
The Winter Solstice yesterday was a reminder for me that I live within cycles of change. Just as the cycles are always changing, so am I. There are seasons to bloom and seasons to harvest. There are also seasons of rest and quiet.
There is something remarkable about finding space to honor the quiet. Taking a few minutes to witness the Great Conjunction last night was a reminder for me to stay curious. To see the larger picture. Even in the midst of a pandemic, there is still so much pressure we put on ourselves to always be productive, successful, and "plugged in".
So in a world that is so noisy and cluttered, I want to offer you a few resources below that might reconnect you back to this space of quiet reflection and inward dwelling:
They are recorded events (The Midwinter gathering with Krista Tippett), printable reflection guides (Year Compass), a beautiful song inspired by last night's astronomical viewing (by Sleeping at Last), a mindful cooking podcast that will immediately ground you (Finding Hygge) and a beautiful free event that will gather people from around the world to honor those who have departed (Sunday, Dec 27).
