Ennis Bookclub Festival Goes Exploring!
In a year when we have all been trapped in our houses, Ennis Bookclub Festival plans to offer an arts experience that provides escape, inspiration and fun!
We have been out meeting with Clare champions of retail and creativity, looking at where our 2021 programme might take us.
The festival will play host to a major site-specific installation:
The Lighthouse Project, on Sunday 7th March, at Loop Head Peninsula. Clare poet Frank Golden will work with a sound artist and immersive theatre maker, to create a walk through the area, punctuated by surprises along the way.
The festival will also be popping up at prize winning St. Tola Goat Cheese Farm! Hosting meet and greets for small groups with authors.
Expect to see some activity in the town on the streets and at The Buttermarket, where festival patrons can get their book fix from the comfort of their car in our special 'Ennis Drivethrough' experience!
Festival tickets will be limited this year and will go on sale via the website. Follow our social media and sign up to our newsletter for announcements on release dates. A special online programme will also be offered, featuring 'A Pint with Roddy Doyle' and new stories from Kevin Barry. Tickets for these events will also be available through our website.
So from all bases, we have it covered! Looking forward to bringing prize winning authors to Ennis, and most of all, to engaging with our audiences, who make the festival the warm and vibrant experience it is!

Emily O'Dwyer
A Cork native living in Clare for over 20 years, this is Emily's 2nd year on the Ennis Book Club Festival committee. An eager reader from a young age, she is in a local bookclub for over 10 years. Emily looks after our social media and online presence and loves the energy and warmth of the festival.

Originally from West Clare, Angela lived in Galway and London for a number of years before settling back in Ennis in 2000. New to the festival committee, Angela will be assisting with the role of Treasurer. "I'm a member of a great Bookclub for 17 years with nine wonderful women who share a love of reading, good food and friendship"
