As 2020 comes to a close, we thank you for your gifts of friendship, customer loyalty, and significant contributions to the advance of leadership continuity for nonprofit organizations. It is our sincere hope that we can continue to grow in our deeply meaningful partnership with you throughout 2021.

We recently asked our customers and professional interim leaders from around the United States and Canada what should be our New Year's Resolutions for 2021.  Based on what we heard, we proudly present our 12 commitments to you:

1. LEAD THE INDUSTRY
Unapologetically show up as the aspiring national voice for interim leadership and advocate for interim leaders in the United States and Canada
 
2. DELIVER A CASE STATEMENT
Develop and deliver a national case statement as a call to action to understand and promote the value of methodical interim leadership

3. ADVANCE NONPROFIT SUCCESSION PLANNING
Present as a national change agent to forge increased knowledge and advancement of succession planning in nonprofit organizations
 
4. DEMONSTATE INTENTIONALITY TO EQUITY AND ENDING RACISM
Show up with intentionality about all aspects of Third Sector Company’s Equity Statement as it relates to diversity, inclusion, equity and access
 
5. PUSH NATIONAL BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT
Lead business development efforts to national nonprofits and regional organizations to advance the entire field of nonprofit leadership continuity

6. PILOT NEW PROGRAMS IN A POST-PANDEMIC MARKETPLACE
Pilot at least two new programs that expand leadership continuity solutions for nonprofit leaders and their organizations in a post COVID-19 era
7.  FORGE PARTNERSHIPS
Actively pursue partnerships that will advance national cooperation in interim development and deployment
 
8. OFFER TECHNOLOGY-BASED LEARNING TOOLS
Incorporate information technology in all presented tools and assessments in Academies and Learning Programs
 
9. ENCOURAGE CONNECTEDNESS
Lead the way in the use of fewer e-mail conversations for more engaging ways to communicate through instant messaging, social media and online video
 
10. BUILD A MORE CLOSE-KNIT PROFESSIONAL COMMUNITY 
Conduct more frequent check-ins with all team members and interim leaders to build a stronger, tighter community of practitioners
 
11. BE A CALMING VOICE
Show up with a predictable calm presence and reassuring voice for our people, our customers, and the sector during an extraordinary period of change.

12. DELIVER OUR OWN SUCCESSION PLAN
Release a succession plan for Third Sector Company that demonstrates its own commitment to leadership continuity.

During 2021, Third Sector Company will offer more than 120 educational sessions and continue to further develop five business lines dedicated to leadership continuity for the nonprofit sector. We look forward to up-dating you on progress towards keeping these commitments.

We know that each of these aspirations needs diverse voices, many helping hands, and lots of support.  There’s plenty of room for you in this ambitious endeavor and we hope to hear from you often!

My personal thanks to each of you for helping Third Sector Company’s people and its mission to help nonprofit organizations find higher ground in their service to others during 2020 and over 19 years of service.
