A Year to Forget?
We are turning the page on the year 2020. It will pass to the annals of history as painful and unforgettable. I'm not sure what your personal journey has been so far; However, I'm sure that virtual work, study, and ministry has been in your repertoire one way or another. Perhaps, some illnesses? Isolation? fatigue?
In spite of it all, perhaps we can join the Prophet Samuel in saying: Ebenezer: “thus far the Lord has helped us” (1 Sam 7: 12). How has God shown Himself in your life in unexpected ways? How have your trials and tribulations (whether personal or global) made you a better Christian? How have you creatively overcome ministry challenges? These are some questions that may help us reflect on the outgoing year while looking forward to a New Year, closer to the return of our Lord and Savior.
I certainly can say with the Apostle Paul that “...in all things God works for the good of those who love Him…” (Rom 8: 28). I can testify to it, particularly while looking back at what 2020 has meant for me and my ministry.
I end by pronouncing a blessing upon each one of you and wishing you and your family a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
