Friends membership is important to support the Museum. In 2021, the Museum needs our support more than ever by each of us becoming Friends members.

The Friends need you to become a dues paying member in 2021!
You are receiving this letter because you are on the mailing list of the Friends of Nevada State Museum Las Vegas. We are a 501[c][3] organization registered in Nevada. Our mission is to provide manpower and financial support to the Nevada State Museum, Las Vegas, in order that it might meet its mission to support and educate the people, particularly the children, of the Greater Las Vegas area. We also work to obtain grants [public and private] which are used to develop and provide our popular Traveling Trunks to the school system as part of its curriculum. in 2020, the Friends were awarded $16,744 through three grants.
We are a 100% volunteer organization. Our financial support is always appreciated by the museum, but particularly in 2020 as museum budgets were reduced substantially due to the pandemic. In 2020, the Friends provided to the museum everything from hand sanitizer to light bulbs to to drill bits to reference manuals to taxidermy display animals.
Everyone receiving this note receives a copy of our monthly newsletter and all other publications and event notices, However, not everyone is a member of the Friends. To be a member costs $20 per person, or $25 per family. Dues money goes into our general fund and is used to support our museum projects. With activities restricted in 2020 due to the pandemic, we decided not to emphasize dues. However, we greatly appreciate thoise members who maintained thier annual dues paying. Because we are optimistic for more activities in 2021, we decided to initiate this membership drive. As iin the past, dues paying members get erly entry into events, first choice on purchase items, and preferential treatment whenever possible.
Those members who paid dues in 2020 can ignore this note as your normal reminder note will arrive in 2021. For all others, the Friends need your help and support! You will receive membership dues notices in January asking you to sign up as a member. Dues payment can be made either through PayPal (email is members@nsmlv.org), or by check.
