ABOUT THE SHOW: Through the fall we were excited to share news of two live performance holiday concerts with limited seating to take place at our theatre, both in support of Town Hall 1873. But as time went on and Covid-19 case numbers continued to rise, both live shows were cancelled as increased government safety restrictions went into effect.

While the easy thing to do would be simply give up in the face of such disappointment, the community-minded people behind HAVE A VERY COVID CHRISTMAS chose to adapt and pivot, to carry on “in the spirit of community and Christmas”.

HOW WAS IT DONE? Following Covid-19 safety protocols, the show was video recorded in segments over a two week period. The segments were recorded using mobile devices, Zoom meetings, selfie videos and any other means available. After capturing the full show, a volunteer team/cast member melded the various video and audio recordings to create one entertaining 70-minute show.

Throughout this digital production of HAVE A VERY COVID CHRISTMAS, the generosity of time and talent invested by the singers, creators and by those on the production end in creating a unique show for 2020, is clear.
