CRB-funded Researcher Looking for Grower Cooperator in the San Joaquin Valley
CRB-funded researcher Dr. Peter Ako Larbi, University of California Cooperative Extension (UCCE) Assistant Specialist, is looking for a grapefruit orchard in the San Joaquin Valley to conduct a spray drift experiment. The orchard must have a minimum row length of 500 feet and adjacent bare ground or low-lying vegetation 600 feet downwind. This experiment is expected to take place in March 2021.

The University of California (UC) Statewide Integrated Pest Management Program is now providing a new online course on how to identify, monitor and manage citrus thrips. This course was developed by Dr. Beth Grafton-Cardwell and Dr. Joe Morse from the Department of Entomology at UC Riverside and Dr. Bodil Cass from the Department of Entomology at UC Davis. This is a great learning opportunity for citrus growers and pest management professionals to earn one hour of "Other" continuing education units approved by the California Department of Pesticide Regulation.
