CRB-funded Researcher Looking for
Grower Cooperator in the San Joaquin Valley

CRB-funded researcher Dr. Peter Ako Larbi, University of California Cooperative Extension (UCCE) Assistant Specialist, is looking for a grapefruit orchard in the San Joaquin Valley to conduct a spray drift experiment. The orchard must have a minimum row length of 500 feet and adjacent bare ground or low-lying vegetation 600 feet downwind. This experiment is expected to take place in March 2021.

If you have such an orchard and would like to cooperate on this work or need more information, please contact Dr. Ako Larbi at palarbi@ucanr.edu or 863-430-3617.

Looking for Continuing Education Credits?

The University of California (UC) Statewide Integrated Pest Management Program is now providing a new online course on how to identify, monitor and manage citrus thrips. This course was developed by Dr. Beth Grafton-Cardwell and Dr. Joe Morse from the Department of Entomology at UC Riverside and Dr. Bodil Cass from the Department of Entomology at UC Davis. This is a great learning opportunity for citrus growers and pest management professionals to earn one hour of "Other" continuing education units approved by the California Department of Pesticide Regulation.
