Giving to Safe Church Ministry

As we approach the holiday season, the solitude that surrounds us this year offers more time for quiet reflection. As a ministry, we have paused to review the year, thankful that we could offer ongoing connection and support to our community in a year that was so full of challenges.  We want to thank you for your ongoing support of our ministry, which enables us to carry out our work in abuse prevention for the Christian Reformed Church. Your support has allowed us to offer the 2020 webinar series, which focused on a wide array of experts who are leading various efforts to end abuse. We have been able to develop the Abuse of Power Training that will further the important conversation of the underlying dynamics of abuse throughout our denomination. In addition, we continued to offer grants and funding for our classes to develop training for their safe church teams. Without your support, our ministry would not be able to provide the resources necessary to ensure that justice and restoration are possible within our congregations.

Please consider donating today to ensure the sustainability of our ministry - we will send all of our individual donors in December a Safe Church mask as a small token of our appreciation!

Abuse of Power Training in Pilot Phase

Curious about the ongoing development of the Abuse of Power Training in the Christian Reformed Church? The new training has now been sent out to candidates for ministers of the Word to complete this pilot version as part of their requirements of candidacy. In the spring of 2021 Safe Church will collaborate with Pastor Church Resources to adapt this into accessible trainings for safe church teams, classis leaders, councils and ministry leaders.
