It's the 4th week of Advent!

Many people in North America are familiar with eating turkey for Christmas. Did you know? In Japan, Christmas cakes (usually something like a sponge cake with whipped cream and strawberries) and chicken (usually fried chicken, and the big fast food chains often have special promotions) are commonly eaten for Christmas. December 25th is not a public holiday, but people might order chicken and cake to eat with their families, friends, or significant others.

If you have a Christmas message (or a picture of your own Christmas food!) that you would like to pass on to the team, let us know!

"And so we know and rely on the love God has for us. God is love. Whoever lives in love lives in God, and God in them." - 1 John 4:16

May the Deaf community in Japan know and rely on the LOVE of Christ this Advent season, and may they learn to live and find life in Him always.

The monthly prayer calendar, a well as the JSLBible.org website, the monthly newsletters, and the Partner Guide brochure are produced by the JSL Bible Support Team, a team of volunteers who support the work of ViBi (the Deaf-led translation project in Japan) by helping produce English-language materials that increase awareness, encourage prayer, and facilitate fundraising and mobilization outside of Japan.
All materials are approved by ViBi’s leaders before publication. Please contact us if you have any questions, comments, or concerns.
