Ai I sit here putting together the final edition for 2020, I would never have guessed that plans would be changing so rapidly. 2020 has been full of surprises and we have all become more used to adjusting to the changes that happen very quickly. My heart goes out to all, not only in our Northern Beaches area, but all over our Presbytery and beyond, who are now grappling with a dramatically different Christmas to the one that was planned. This is a time of heightened anxiety for many, it is also a time of loneliness which may now be exacerbated.
Although we all have restrictions placed on us for this Christmas my prayer is that we take the time to think of others and be grateful for all that we do have.
As these restrictions have come about quite quickly, many congregations who had previously advertised their Christmas Services have not had the time to send through information to update them.
I would therefore urge anyone who wishes to be a part of Christmas Worship to contact their Church directly, or check their website, which I'm sure will have Zoom details available.
I apologise in advance for any missing or incorrect information.
Merry Christmas
The edition of the 24th December, 2020 is the last one for this year. We will resume at the end of January 2021.
We would like to wish everyone a safe and healthy Christmas, and we look forward to connecting with you all again in 2021.
Avalon Uniting Church We are all impacted by the local COVID cluster. By NSW Government order, places of worship on the northern beaches remain closed. As such we will not be holding a Christmas service, nor Sunday services until the guidance changes. We are all in lock-down and some are in more restricted isolation.
Christmas day will be different this year so remember to reach out to one another, stay close to family and non-church friends.
It is still a time to celebrate the birth of Jesus and what that has brought to the world I’ve attached a copy of the planned Order of service, and you may be interested to read some of the bible verses associated with your favourite Carols.
Please feel free to contact me if you have any concerns or questions. God’s peace, Phillip Comans Order of Service
