New opening times

December and January

The Museum will be open and the trams will be operating from Boxing Day to New Year's Day, and then every Tuesday, Saturday and Sunday through out January, 2021.

All tram rides start and finish from the Museum, where you also need to purchase your tickets. Prices are Adults $5.00, Children $2.00, and Concession $4.00. You can pay by cash or card, and even by souvenirs from the shop. Members ride free, but they will need to pickup a ticket from the Museum. All visitors will need to register at the Museum using the COVIDSafe QR code, and for those who still (like our trams) use older technology, you can sign in using the Visitor Register.

Merry Christmas

All the volunteers from the Ballarat Tramway Museum wish a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to all our supporters. After a long forced shutdown, we need your support even more than ever! Looking forward to seeing you on your next visit to the BTM.

Geelong Tram No. 2

Geelong Tram No. 2 is now on display at the Museum. Final work is being completed to have it ready to take passengers, but members were lucky enough to go for a ride at our Annual General Meeting in December. This is a beautifully restored tram which operated in Geelong from 1912 to 1956.

COVIDSafe Trams

The Museum is operating under a COVIDSafe plan to protect our visitors and our volunteers. All trams are sanitised between trips, numbers of passengers are strictly limited, and all adults on the tram are required to wear a fitted face mask.
