Dear Friends:

This certainly has been a year to remember. Yes there were challenges, but there were opportunities for innovation and collaboration, as well. Educators have shown the world what we already knew; they are nimble, adaptable and dedicated to their students.  Students have shown us all how to operate from a place of grace and resiliency. We at the National Center are so grateful for all of you.

Here we are in a season of hope and renewal. With the beginning of every new year, we find ourselves in transition – planning with our students, and joining them in their journey as they set their sights on the National Leadership Conference. This year is no different, and yet, it is completely different. Many of you are operating in a virtual setting, some are in class and some are a combination of the two. More challenging is that it continues to change, sometimes day by day.

We at the National Center strive to provide support to you and your students during this time as we all remain steadfast in our mission. As we continue to ensure we are serving all of our members to the best of our ability, we will need your guidance in understanding what travel restrictions and challenges we may encounter as we plan for the National Leadership Conference. This will ensure that we have information to guide us in our efforts. Therefore, this January, we will be sending out a survey to help glean insight from states, schools and communities, and we hope you will take an opportunity to respond.

As always, please feel free to contact us with any questions or ideas. Our whole team is here for you. Thank you again for everything that you do to support the students we all serve.

On behalf of the National Center staff, I wish you and your families the happiest of holidays and a 2021 filled with good health, joy and unimaginable possibilities.

Warmest regards,

Dr. LouAnn Ross, EdD, MAEd, MPPM
