This season, especially after this unexpected year, we are choosing to celebrate the birth of our Savior with joy and discovering what it means when the Bible says the word became flesh. The same flesh that was marred, bruised and broken for my failure to love God and love people. Today we celebrate triumphant King, and humble servant, one who chose to come so low to raise us up. I’m in awe of His birth, death and resurrection.
I find myself deeply in love and enraptured by God’s choice to clothe His son in human rags, to rescue me, and you, and all who would believe. Jesus’ humble beginnings, born in a stable, is God’s heart, doing the miraculous in the ordinary. Today may your heart be renewed as we reflect at the end of 2020, remembering Jesus' coming down, becoming flesh and dwelling among us. We have a King, who came as a baby, who understands humanity, who was tempted in the same ways as we are. He is Emmanuel, God with us.
Make no mistake, God sees you, He knows you, and He loves you. He is with us. In his presence, there is fullness of joy!
