Happy Holidays
from Piti Theatre

In 2020, Piti's "Your Town" program took off! After making a new musical for Hawlemont Regional School pre-COVID, this fall we made a series of podcasts addressing racism, women's rights and emerging fascism with the Aldrich Museum of Contemporary Art that are now being integrated into CT high schools. Check out the podcasts and curriculum guide on our "Your Town" page.

This year we also moved forward with two local arts mentoring initiatives.
- Valley Playwright Mentoring (VPM) where at-risk teens create performances (or in this case podcasts) inspired by stories from their lives
- Valley Arts Mentors is a collaboration with Holyoke Media and Big Brothers and Big Sisters of Franklin County. VAM's aim is to strengthen arts organizations serving young people in the Pioneer Valley and we also offer our own early career artist remote mentorship program

Faced with COVID restrictions on gatherings, Piti's Youth Troupe created a short film featuring a dictatorial mayor, widespread rebellion and a dinosaur on the loose! You can watch "The Mayor of Greenpants: Dino Disaster" below.

Quotes from Fall, 2020
"What an amazing experience . . ." - Youth Troupe Parent

"Collaborating with Piti Theatre Co has been an incredibly gratifying experience and a great joy to stretch ourselves to produce creative and challenging virtual content amid the multiple shutdowns and uncertainty of this unprecedented year." - Namulen Bayarsaihan, Director of Education, Aldrich Museum of Contemporary Art

"Thank you for supporting me in getting my mojo back with a spot in the Great Greenfield DinoFest. The tech support was awesome . . . I didn't even know people could do that. And beyond that, you made it possible for me to do a story hour with a craft for the first time since October, 2019. . .  I got to see a bit of what's possible in my world. I can't thank you enough . . .your plays are wonderful. All of this is wonderful and congratulations on pulling it off." - Kay Lyons, Greenfield Children's Librarian

To Bee or Not to Bee

We had plenty of cancelled performances of "To Bee or Not to Bee" in 2020 but we still performed for an outdoors, socially distanced crowd in Nashua, NH and received a grant from the Berkshire Film and Media Cooperative to help us turn the show into an online program for schools! Would you consider helping us complete the project with a tax-deductible donation? We are pivoting our original "To Bee" crowdfunding campaign to reach our $5,000 goal while delivering a great asset for remote learning and environmental inspiration far and wide.
