Before we kick off our 2021 campaigns, we want to hear from you. Will you fill out our survey?

Take 5 minutes to tell us what you think we should do r1

Paov,

We’ve got a big year ahead of us.

Next week, President-Elect Biden will be sworn into office and we expect him to make an exciting announcement around the Keystone XL pipeline soon afterward. Less than a week after that, Parliament will resume here in Canada and we will be ready to push for ambitious climate action. On top of all that, we’re anticipating a possible snap federal election possibly in the next couple of months.

The 350 Canada team is preparing for a marathon ahead of us. As part of that process, we wanted to take a minute to hear from you.

Fill out this survey to tell us how you’re feeling about the year ahead and what you would like to see us focus on.

Thank you for standing with us through the rollercoaster ride we all experienced

A,

WhatsApp’s mask has fallen: its new Terms Conditions explicitly state that it shares users’ private data with its parent company Facebook.

At Stand.earth, our work is driven by a belief in the collective power of everyday people like you and me.

Despite what 2020 threw at us, together we helped stop the world’s biggest tar sands mine, blocked reckless government bailouts, and secured major commitments to protect some of the last old growth forests. It’s thanks to the growing power of this movement that we were able to achieve these wins.

But here’s the thing, the stakes are even higher in 2021. In this moment of intense disruption, new space is opening up to imagine solutions bigger and bolder than we dreamed of before.

We want to build that vision together. So before we lock in plans for the

Three Major Threats to Life on Earth

Noam Chomsky and Vijay Prashad

Large parts of the world – outside of China and a few other countries – face a runaway virus, which has not been stopped because of criminal incompetence by governments. That these governments in wealthy countries cynically set aside the basic scientific protocols released by the World Health Organization and by scientific organizations reveals their

The French giant behind deforestation

French bank BNP Paribas is one of the biggest funders of planet-destroying soybean projects in the world wiping out areas 115 times the size of Manhattan each year!

A few days ago, BNP boasted about its new “anti-deforestation” policy for the soy industry. But it was all lip service.

Indigenous communities in Brazil can't take it any longer. Tell BNP Paribas to stop funding deforestation now!

A,

Every year in Brazil, an area 115 times the size of Manhattan is wiped out to make room for soy farms. And this carnage is mainly funded by a French giant: BNP Paribas.

How Socialists Resist Rightist Coups: Lessons from the Early Communist International

John Riddell

Parliaments and elections are no guarantee of democratic rights and fair treatment for working people. Capitalist forces displeased with an electoral outcome are all too likely to take direct action to impose their will, whether by financial manipulations, economic blockades, or military coups.

Even apparently stable parliamentary regimes in dominant countries can be challenged in
