The IIAS 90th Anniversary Conference has lived for four days, December 15-18, 2020, on the theme of "Public Governance for Climate Action" with around 270 submissions from 61 countries. The event was organized on our new virtual platform, VISA (Virtual Institute for the Sciences of Administration).
 
With more than 40 invited speakers, the program consisted of 44 sessions and panels including a special 90th IIAS Anniversary celebration, Governance meetings, Scientific and professional panels on Climate, COVID-19, the SDGs, E-Learning, and other topics. On this occasion, a commemorative video was produced (IIAS 90th-Anniversary video), along with special anniversary greetings from IIAS leaders, and a 90th Anniversary Report.

IIAS Entities Governance meetings
IIAS, IASIA, and EGPA governance boards met during the 90th-anniversary conference. Among the key decisions made:
The IIAS Council of Administration decided to append the IIAS Conference to IASIA’s which will be held in Bela Bela, South Africa, July 26-31 on the theme of Public Administration and the Industrial Revolution 4.0. The General Assembly, which also met on this occasion, confirmed the nomination of the following two members:

The EGPA Steering Committee decided to organize the EGPA 2021 Conference in Brussels (Belgium) from 7 to 10 September 2021 and to facilitate the organization of a series of EGPA Virtual Workshops by the Permanent Study Groups in order to maintain the activity of the EGPA Network. The first such workshop was held this month (see below) and the second will be held in March.
The IASIA Board of Management confirmed the organization of the IASIA-IIAS 2021 Conference in Bela-Bela, South Africa from July 26-30, deliberated on a report to restructure the IASIA working groups, and confirmed the selection of members of the Accreditation Committee of ICAPA as proposed by ICAPA Steering Committee. The IASIA Virtual Communication and Decision Making Mechanism will be used to vote on further issues.

IASIA-IIAS 2021 Conference

On July 26-30, the IASIA-IIAS 2021 Conference is due to take place in Bela Bela, South Africa with the theme “Public Administration & Industry 4.0/4IR”. During the event, the 60-year anniversary of IASIA will also be celebrated.

IIAS 90th Anniversary - International Review of Administrative Sciences:

We are pleased to publish, via Open Access and our longstanding publisher, SAGE, this special collection of the International Review of Administrative Sciences (IRAS). It includes a paper from each decade of the journal and the IIAS’ existence, it is a remarkable record of the development of Public Administration as an academic discipline and as professional practice. We have many papers by eminent scholars, but also practitioners and those who cross both worlds; the pracademics.
