Pulpit Exchange
January 17
For the past few months, the Oakwood elders and our Presbytery have been working with Pastor Angelo Valle and Christ Reformed Church of Alexandria, PA on the possibility of their church joining the PCA and our Presbytery. This is expected to become official next month. This Sunday, January 17, we are pleased to welcome Pastor Valle to preach at both of our worship services. At the same time, Pastor Kiehl will be preaching at Christ Reformed Church. Please plan to come and meet Pastor Valle, and pray for the transition for our new sister church!

A Time of Prayer on Inauguration Day
Wednesday, January 20
Next Wednesday, January 20, is Inauguration Day. We are encouraging Oakwood to set aside the day to pray for our government, our leaders, and the nation where we have been placed by God. Consider setting aside some time personally to spend in fasting and prayer for our nation. We will send out a prayer guide next week in a separate email. May we seek the welfare of this country as we strive to be His witnesses for the Gospel.

Lost and Found Table
Gathering Space
The Lost and Found bin is overflowing with clothing, books, baby items, and more. All contents are on display on a table in the gathering space. Please stop by on Sunday to claim your belongings.

OYM T-Shirts Available
There will be a table with adult size t-shirts designed by our own Caleb Oleshefsky available in the gathering space this Sunday. Please feel free to take one and show your support of Oakwood's Youth Ministry (OYM)!

Women's Evening Bible Study
Begins January 21
In-person
Dates: Every other Thursday beginning January 21
Time: 7:30 pm - 9:00 pm
Location: Rotating homes.
Format: We will study the books of Galatians and Titus using the OIA (observe-interpret-apply) method and our meetings will also include time for prayer and fellowship.
Cost: $5/participant to cover the cost of binders and photocopies.

Welcome Baby Zhu
Timmy and Rachael Zhu welcomed their daughter, Rebecca Hope, into the world on Thursday, January 7. She weighed 7 lbs 11 oz and is 19.5 inches long. Rachael and Rebecca are both doing well. “We are very blessed to have our little girl here and thank God for bringing her to us." Praise God for this new covenant child in our midst!

Annual Meeting
February 5
7:00 pm
Oakwood will have its annual congregational meeting on Friday, February 5 at 7:00 pm. The meeting will be live-streamed, but members must be present in order to vote. Brian Roberg has completed an internship and will be presented as a candidate for Ruling Elder (contingent upon approval of his examination by Session). If you have any questions, please contact Pastor Kiehl or one of the current Elders. Everyone is invited to join us for this meeting, but only members may vote, so please mark this important date on your calendar.

Children’s Sunday School
We will not have in-person Sunday School for ages 3-8th grade during the Winter quarter. For parents who would like materials to use with their children at home, we are providing some take-home packets from the Show Me Jesus curriculum. Packets will be available near the entrance of the sanctuary on January 10. If you have any questions, please email Rachael Zhu at rezhu18@gmail.com. You can also make arrangements to pick up these materials during the week by contacting Tricia at tricia.oakwood@gmail.com. |
