The application deadline is fast approaching with just over two weeks until February 1, 2021. Now is a good time to tie up any loose strings on your application and (if needed) submit your fee waiver request if you haven't done so already. 
The 2021-2022 application closes at 11:59 pm on

Application Fee Waiver Reminder

If you would like to apply to waive the application fee, you will need to submit your fee waiver request through the eApp at least two weeks before our Teacher Education Program application deadline.

That means the request is due January 18, 2021. Please visit this link for more information on eligibility and how to apply. 

You are not required to submit your TEP application until the application deadline, February 1, 2021.
Application Drop-In Hours

Sign up for individual Application Drop-In Hours for personalized answers to your application questions Tuesday, January 19 through Friday, January 22.
Waiting on Letters of Recommendation?

Is your application all ready to go with the exception of your letters of recommendation? You can now submit your TEP application!
  • Your letter writers will still be able to upload after submission.
Bonus: Applying early allows the TEP staff to make sure you are not missing any application requirements.

Funding Opportunities Reminder

Some funding opportunities also have a deadline of February 1, 2021:

Community Teaching Fellowship
This $40,000 award is open to all credential applicants with a preference for candidates having demonstrated financial need, who are from the Santa Barbara area or neighboring regions, and/or from an underserved background, and/or who are first-generation college students, and/or who are bi/multilingual. More information here.

How to Apply: Complete the Community Teaching Fellowship Application by February 1, 2021.

PEAC Community Teaching Fellowship 
This award will provide up to $36,400 based on financial need and is open to all credential applicants with a preference for candidates who are graduates of Santa Barbara Unified School District’s Program for Effective Access to College (PEAC) and/or from an underserved background, and/or who are first-generation college students, and/or who are bi/multilingual. More information here.

How to Apply: Complete the Community Teaching Fellowship Application by February 1, 2021.

Program Block Grants 
Block grants are need-based and typically range from $1,500-$6,000. Block grants are administered by the Teacher Education Program.

How to Apply: Complete the optional Financial Aid Statement and upload to the “Statements and Supplemental Documents” section of the eApp.
