AssalamuAlaikum IFS Families,

I pray that all of you are staying safe. I am excited to inform you that we will be resuming classes on campus for our students. Our goal is to provide a safe learning environment for our students where they can also grow emotionally, and socially connect with their teachers and friends. We have implemented the best means of keeping our students safe by preparing the campus and facility and training the teachers and staff.

Phase 1: All KG to 8th grade students who have submitted a signed waiver already, can resume classes on Wednesday, January 20th, with a negative COVID test result. Details were emailed earlier. Please contact Ms. Haleema Syed or Ms. Sana Jaddi if you have any questions.

Phase 2: ALL KG to 8th grade and Sacred Link parents who wish to resume on campus learning for their children in grades KG to 8th on Monday, January 25th, MUST submit the following:
  1. Complete and submit a waiver.
    1. Please submit a signed waiver, one per child to Ms. Asma Khatoon at akhatoon@ifsvp.org. Parents MUST wait for a confirmation prior to resuming on-campus learning since seats may be limited.  The waiver form is included below in this newsletter.
  2. Ensure the safety of all others on campus.
    1. Complete and submit a recent negative COVID test result for each student to Ms. Asma Khatoon at akhatoon@ifsvp.org, prior to returning. Parents may choose to test independently or take advantage of testing provided on site at IFS from 4:00 to 6:00 pm on Thursday, January 21st. Both the nasal swab and oral swab options will be available. The COVID test registration form is included below. Please complete and return it to Ms. Asma Khatoon. (Details to follow)
    2. If parents choose not to test their children, then students must self- isolate prior to their return, from January 16th until January 24th so they can return on January 25th. Additionally, parents must complete and submit a student health screening form daily, from January 16th to January 24th for each student. The form is available on the IFS website at ifsvp.org
Phase 3: All high school students will have the option to return to campus with a tentative start date of mid-February. All health and safety guidelines will be considered in making this decision.

We will continue to offer the remote learning option for parents who wish to keep their children at home, with live instruction from the teachers Monday through Thursday. We will also continue to offer the Fridays as an asynchronous day of learning for all students. During these days, the students will learn independently from home, while the campus is cleaned and sanitized thoroughly.

We understand how challenging these times are. We know the situation is evolving and appreciate your understanding, cooperation, and support. I can be reached at 630-941-8800 X 1006 or at fsiddiqui@ifsvp.org, if you have any questions.

Sincerely,
Farhat Siddiqui
Interim Principal

We have implemented the best means of keeping our students safe by preparing the campus and facility and training the teachers and staff. The following has been completed thus far:
  • All teachers and teacher assistants are trained on following safe routines.
  • Proper signage is placed on floors and areas to indicate 6 ft. spacing.
  • Classroom seating is arranged with ample spacing to maintain social distancing.
  • Sensor activated sanitizing pumps have been installed throughout the entry and hallways.
  • Regular cleaning is scheduled throughout the day with special attention to all touch surfaces.
  • A fast and easy wellness certification system is in place for each child, online, which parents must complete prior to arrival, each day.
  • A drive through temperature check system is in place at each entrance, daily.
  • A designated entry location is assigned for each group of students.
  • A complete separation of students and teachers by elementary, middle, and high school department is in place for easier contact tracing, if needed.
  • Teachers and students are self-contained by classroom for instruction, lunch, and prayer.
